Probably because routers aren't always as smart as we think and some people prefer more control I mainly prefer sticking to the 5GHz as it gives me the majority of my ISP speed if I connect to the 2.4GHz yes I might get a better signal at a longer range but I most certainly take a hit on speed

apparently not, my friend bought one and it requires you to plug it into a modem (or to another router). Don't really know why they make a router that requires another, since if you want to get rid of lag you could just use ethernet connection on your gaming pc

You won't need another subscription however you will need to pop into your current ISP router settings and put that into modem mode then run an ethernet cable from your ISP router into this Asus WAN port generally most ISP in the UK have instructions on how to do this 🙂

Agreed Avoid Wifi for gaming, also for the record I love Asus routers and recommend them, but to put it in perspective, my 5 year old Asus router has the same exact menu UI and gaming options in the video. You are 100% correct, but if you have gogabit Internet, yes, you need wifi 6 for the full use of bandwidth. In many appartments your router is in the opposide side of your appartment and no way to have any ethernet cable installed (unless you want a fucking cable through your rooms on the floor which is dumb haha) So yes, ethernet is always the way to go, but not everyone is physically able to use ethernet. So yes, a good wifi router is very important. Do you need WiFi 6? It all depends on your bandwidth of your contract. If you have gigabit, then yes, wifi 6 is needed for full Performance as in bandwidth
