This is an #DIY video how to replace a damaged LCD screen or touch panel on a #WiiU gamepad with a replacement part purchased from ebay. Hopefully this video can help you save some $$$ and learn something new.

This is a step up from my old set which was made of poor quality plastic. This kit is more stable and has loads of attachments. I find the power bank holder very useful especially during those extended recording sessions.

Where can we get the black frame for the lcd screen if we mess up removing it from an old screen

Hi Benjamin, I searched ebay and there is no listing just for the black frame surrounding the LCD (as seen in video @ 9:33). If you accidentally damaged it during the removal process, try to fix it as much as possible. If its too messed up, its not the end of the world and your WiiU gamepad will still function without it. As alternative, you can cut to size a thin black rubber material and place it around the edges. I hope this is helpful. Cheers, JustDIYItMan

So the ribbon next to big ribbon Controls the touch screen? Any advice, I broke the Grey holder for the cable, anything I can do?

Yes, the thinner ribbon next to the big ribbon cable is for the touch screen. I’m sorry that you broke the grey holder, they are really delicate. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to put that part back together after it is broken. But you will find these motherboards sell for something like AU$40-50 on ebay so you might want to consider buying one to replace what you have. Make sure to ask the ebay seller if there are any compatibility issues you need to know about before making the purchase. Good luck Starpotatoes!

@@AutosNGizmos thanks for the reply, I was about to buy another motherboard, but I decided I'd improvise and got it in place with some electrical tape, and it works, hopefully for a decent amount of time

@@j7sportvideo24if you're still having this problem, I dont really know any other advice to give you besides make sure the ribbon cables are secured into the grey holders as best as possible, as the small ones can be tricky at times
