Yeah that will also work. But having a phone mount on a car is so 80’s imo 😁 Tesla just need to give is a second screen for the driver (or a real head-up display) but instead, they will probably give us a second screen for the rear passengers 😂

@AutosNGizmos
@AutosNGizmos 12 күн бұрын
Hi @r0ckoon, yes it should fit as I have other viewers install this on their c230k. However, it is best to confirm this with the seller. One thing I would note is that if your car has the Harman Kardon speakers, you might need to install a separate device to convert analogue to digital audio. But make sure to inform the seller what type of speaker you have. Have a look at this other video where the guy installs a fire-optic converter on his Merc with the Harman Kardon speakers (around the 14-minute mark) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZx3mcdouq6xg6M.html

Nicely done. I think the title says it best too. I formed this opinion after my first drive though. I immediately tried to adjust the headrests back. I figured they could be adjusted, and I’d just figure it out later after looking through the manual. Surprise: They can’t be adjusted. Jon Osborne did a video in 2019 showing how to bend them backwards called “Tesla Model 3 headrest removal and modification.” Osborne actually demonstrates how to bend the headrest seat posts to get a better angle, but a read through the comments reveals that it is actually possible (and much simpler) to just flip the headrest around so that it arches away from the head. It’s now more difficult to release the headrests on Teslas made after 2020 though because the clips holding the posts are shoved further down - probably to prevent this sort of alteration. But it’s still doable. The flipped headrest does not click back into place, so it’s probably not going to hold if you flip the car. I personally have the very same pillows you’re showing here. They seemed comfy at first, but they really bothered my neck after a full day of use. The quest continues.

Hi mrmeach1967, Yes I watched those videos too right after my first road-trip on my Model Y because that’s when I noticed it. I didn’t go down the route of bending or installing it in reverse as it looks drastic. I was actually hoping they would redesign them when the new Model 3 came out but alas, they didnt :( I like how Tesla is innovating and adapting new design but they also need to respect what has long been considered tradition and improve on it rather than eliminating in favour of margins.

Hi katabi66, firstly thanks for watching my video. I’ve had other people mention problems with audio after the installation. Most of them have a Harman Kardon sound system which means the car speakers is hooked up with optical audio connections. If the speakers on your car has the Harman Kardon branding/logo, then chances are you need the optical converter. If this is the case, you might also want to watch this video from another DIY’er who used the optical converter for his W209. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZx3mcdouq6xg6M.html You can skip directly to the part where he is explaining how to connect it up which starts from 14:20

@@AutosNGizmos Thank you for the quick reply. None of my speakers show Harman Kardon sound system or labels. It is exactly like your car. Main harness with 2 antenna yellow and purple only. The car I have is 2007 C280 w203. I noticed in the original head unit where the main harness goes, to the left of the pins there is an orange piece of plastic with 2 connectors. That might be optical out put. but the speakers around the car do not say Harman Kardon for sure. What do you think?
@AutosNGizmos

I’ve re-watched the videos again to re-jog my memory. There are a few things you can try that might help: 1) Most of these Android-based car stereo systems have a master volume buried under the firmware settings. Have a look around and see what it is set to. If you can’t find it, probably a good idea is to do a hard reset. There should be some instruction that came in the manual how to do this. Reboot then retest. If there is still no audio, proceed to #2 below. 2) This second option, you will need a multi-meter so if you don’t have one, might be worthwhile to borrow one from a friend. On the back of the headunit, you will see a small (red) fuse and next to it is the ISO connector. This is where the headunit will output the all audio channels. For example, pins 9 and 11 are the Front Right ground and audio signals respectively. The pin-out information should be in the user manual that came with your headunit. While the headunit is plugged in and turned on to a radio station (but not mounted on the dash, use the probes on your multi-meter (use either Ohm or Voltage setting on the multimeter) to tap into pins 9 (black probe) and 11 (red probe) to check if you see any readings. If you see fluctuations in the reading, then it means the headunit is trying to send audio to the speakers. If you don’t see any readings, then there might be something wrong with the headunit so report this back to the seller. If you see fluctuations in the readings in the multi-meter, proceed to #3 3) At this point we know the headunit system volume is correct and it is sending audio signals to the car. In this step, we need to make sure that the pin-outs on the wiring harness of the Android headunit match the pin-out of the connector that is in the car. My car has the MB Audio 20 so the website in the below url has the pin-out information. Make sure both pin-outs match. For example, pins 9 and 11 on the Android headunit should be connected to Pins 6 and 2 of the Car’s wiring harness. It is also worth making sure none of the pins are bent and there is good connectivity. Sometimes all it takes is the ground pin not connected properly and that is enough to make everything out of sorts. pinoutguide.com/Car-Stereo-Mercedes-Maybach-Smart/Smart_Audio_20_Quadlock_c_pinout.shtml That is all I can think of for now so I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Rather than having the one with big blue icons, they now show the common them you see in other headunits. I don’t know if there is way for the seller to load it with the old style (big blue icons) theme. I’ve had this car for almost 2 years and I don’t have any issues with it. But in saying that, I normally use it with Apple Carplay.

Hi yrn_sean, thanks for watching my video. I should have probably explained the ground connector because that is as equally important to get right. I might create another explainer video about that in the future. So to answer your question where to connect the ground wire on your 2006 Chrysler 300 (beautiful car by the way). I must preface this with a disclaimer, I don’t own a 300 but I watched video where it shows where it is. I’m basing my answer on that video so I’m not sure if that is correct. But generally speaking, any bare-metal (i.e. no paint) you see on the car should be connected to ground. If you skip directly to 6 minutes and 42 seconds you will see on the top right corner of the frame where several black wires are connected with a single bolt into the body of the car (the one next to the battery). That is your ground. I hope this helps and if you have further questions, just pop them in the comments. Also if you haven’t done so yet, I would appreciate if you can subscribe to my channel. Hi Rob, thanks for watching this video. You have a few questions so let me answer them one at a time: 1) CPU/Ram/Rom specs - This particular one is 8 core with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. I wouldnt go any higher than this unless you plan on installing multiple apps directly on the headunit instead of using Carplay/Android Auto. 2) TPMS - From experience with other Android headunits, there is no particular TPMS brand/system required for this headunit. I remember buying one TPMS system for a Peugeot 308 Android headunit and connecting it with the W203 and it still worked. The key is connecting it to the TPMS receiver correct USB port. 3) Multiple video inputs - This I suggest reaching out to the seller directly as I have not connected multiple video inputs on any of the installs Ive done. 4) Headunit seller - The seller “Kapud” is still available. Ive linked the product page (Option 1) below. I also have a link for an alternative product which you can explore. It has a smaller screen though. I have not installed option 2 product so I cant offer any tips for you. However for both products, make sure to confirm with the seller if this is compatible with your car before committing to buying any of them. @AutosNGizmos
@AutosNGizmos 2 ай бұрын
Hi Jonas, with regards to the reverse camera: 1) if the headunit does not automatically switch to show the reverse camera video input, then a potential source if issue there could be that headunit has an incorrect Canbus setting in the BIOS. Have a look at the BIOS settings page and look for something like “CAN Type” setting. 2) With regards to the steering wheel buttons, I also encountered the same issue. I was communicating with the seller about this and they provided me with another wiring harness which didn’t work either. And since this is a friend’s car and they are not bothered by that issue, it was a bit difficult to troubleshoot it. So I would suggest that you reach out to the seller and explain to them the issue you have with the steering wheel buttons not working. I hope this is helpful. Cheers! 😊

This is a Karen move because there's a privilege that motivates this action. Every Tesla driver should know to keep an eye on charge no matter what. If she managed to charge her vehicle she would have been sitting there for at least half and hour to an hour so if this was desperation she would have been screwed anyway. She felt like she had the right to pull from his car and she didn't, thus making her a Karen in the moment. Not everyone needs to be called a Karen but in this case she wasn't in the right. That's like me going to your house, unplugging your car in your driveway and plugging up mines because I was quote on quote desperate. There is a time and place for everything and this was a Karen moment for her. She may not be karen person but this was a karen move.

How do I know if my X2 needs a firmware update? And how do I download the new firmware? Is this something to be concerned about?

Actually since I installed the X2, I’ve never had to install a firmware update. I think its just there if one of the Tesla s/w updates break this instrument cluster so there is way for the manufacturer to fix it. So for now I say if nothing is broken on your X2, you probably don’t need a firmware update.

Hi, Im sorry I don’t know the code for the bearing in the wiper arm but you can try the guys who made the below video. They seem to be selling the bearing kit in their website. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/erhdgZOJyZaWZ2g.htmlsi=t6ebjVa7_cqrIVDy

@@AutosNGizmos thanks! I have fixed it! New bearings in it. Manage to find a faster and better way to take out the outer raceway of the bearing!

Have recently bought these for my Tesla MYP 21” Uberturbine wheels, and they DO NOT FIT! They are too small to click over the rim! Waiting on MagBak to respond to my claim.
