Oliver Street was a beautiful house. Buffed there in summer of '87. The late, great Artie O'leary was there on the Ford C model Rescue 1. Made a dozen runs one night.

I see that most of there equipment has a Q2B on board. Is there any particular reason why they don't use it. I hear some companies do very little but most don't.
@857firephoto
@857firephoto 4 жыл бұрын
In my experience most of the time they use it.The Lt may be looking at the MCT or getting his gear on so he doesnt wanna hit the pedal or something else like that
@owensweetland342
@owensweetland342 3 жыл бұрын
Well, if you use the Q you have to pay attention and you can't have a conversation in the cab and watch traffic while deploying the Q. Otherwise flip the switch and sit back. No thinking involved.

MASSFIREFIGHTER1 Thanks for the information was not aware of that good to know. We here in California lockouts are a Code 2 response unless it is medical related.
@857firephoto
@857firephoto 4 жыл бұрын
In boston we don't have "code 2 or code 3" responses. everything is a full lights and siren response unless there is a struck box (rpt fire) and the OIC calls a "Code C response" which means to slow down/ no lights or sirens.

Not really an E-One fan but, damn, Beantown's rigs just look good, like a big red truck ought to. Would've been nice if they'd stuck with E-One for the new(ish) R1 instead of KME.

@William Tucker Fire Photography From E-One?
@franklewis6943
@franklewis6943 3 жыл бұрын
@William Tucker Fire Photography You're more plugged in to Beantown firefighters, so you got any poop on the specs? Are the two identical or are they sticking with a tandem for R1 and a single for R2? Two-door chassis or four? Boston's one of E-One's bigger customers, and I think it was REV Group that pushed the KME rig on them, probably at a serious discount, to try and polish the brand's reputation--just like the FDNY engine order that turned into a warranty disaster.

Nearly every US rig I see on this site is proudly flying the Stars & Stripes, but I see quite a few of these Boston units are not. Is there a reason for this?
@857firephoto
@857firephoto 4 жыл бұрын
not every fire truck has a flag. With many apparatus they are attached to poles on the bumper which isn't on these trucks design. Furthermore if you look Ladder 16 has one on their grill.
