Thirty years ago, aliens arrive on Earth. Not to conquer or give aid, but to find refuge from their dying planet. Separated from humans in a South African area called District 9, the aliens are managed by Multi-National United, which is unconcerned with the aliens' welfare but will do anything to master their advanced technology. When a company field agent contracts a mysterious virus that begins to alter his DNA, there is only one place he can hide: District 9.

great film. main character went from totally insufferable to beloved and redeemed. its a shame we never got a follow up film

This was such a great movie, it had so many aspects that reflected on our historical to current conditions in human treatment, using "aliens" as a prop for how certain nations/ demographics are towards fellow humans. Europeans and Indigenous Americans and Mexicans, Europeans and African nations, Europeans and Australia's indigenous, Europeans and Canada's indigenous, Europeans and New Zealand's indigenous, etc. This movie does not need a sequeal, the point is made. Those who start to show empathy and are treated like thr downtrodden, is only when people become aware of the horrors of their mistreatment.

That’s the whole point of the movie. It’s an allegory of the real-life events that took place during apartheid-era District 6 in South Africa.

It’s definitely one of those movies that could have a sequel to. A time jump forward kind of thing and we see the aliens migrating into foreign countries etc. as a take on todays current political climate

Wikus was so abnocius in the beginning, in my opinion he got whtpat he deserved, but he reddemed himself towards the end, such an awesome character. Yeah, sorry for My Bad English is My second language.

No you are completely wrong, this is only that "Fuel" aliens got , they are leaders therfore inteligent, all others are workers stupid and unable to make that fuel , and that little amount take them years to gather, Vicus is only one transformed and by accident
