Twist FM is a very wild chip synth with soundblaster fm chips and gnarly analog filters. It'll launch later this year.

Thanks so much Cuckoo for trying the TWISTfm and thanks for the video! It has 8 voices (provided by 2 fm chips and four stereo DACs). Each voice has its own multimode 4 pole filter with modulation of drive, cutoff and resonance. Expected to be available in October. More info soon! Thanks! 🥰

I bought two segas ripped out the chips just to try it and I can’t believe how nice the mega fm sounds now it’s a must if u own any of the removable ym3438 chipped synths I can’t get enough of the sound I just love it thanks to twisted electrons for making some of the best synths ever made and they are affordable !!!!! the French guys are really great at the whole synth stuff thank you so much

I love how it's called Twist, but all the controls are sliders. Regardless, it sounds gnarly... which is a good thing.

Twisted Electrons make my favourites synths!! After buying the MegaFm I sold the Prophet-6, Prophet Rev2 and never looked back. This new synth sounds beautiful! Can’t wait to buy one!!

Sound blaster chips. 2-layer 4-op + 2-op structure. Multimode analogue filter. Looking forward to seeing more on it.

The Mega FM is based on the YM2612 chip, perhaps most known from the Sega Megadrive from the late 80's. The Twist FM is based on the YMF-262, also known as the OPL3 chip, most known from the Sound Blaster sound cards from the 90's. The chips are similar in that they're both old FM chips designed by Yamaha, but they have different waveforms and operator capabilities, and can sound pretty different from oneanother in their pure form. The Blast Beats has the same chip. That being said, the added analog filters are EXTREMELY gnarly, and is sort of taking this out of the FM territory. It sounds nothing like the Blast Beats with the same chip.
