I have a cockatiel, have him 13 years now...only tame&friendly when it suits him, only when he feels like it...lots of hissing always, doesn't talk only screams....sits on my shoulders for petting, takes off when he's had enough....and I love him to pieces, wouldn't want him any other way....he never bites, and if he does it's only for 'testing' the surface he's about to step on, like my finger. When he screams too much we make him fly to tire him out, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, or we give him a bath, then he'll be busy preening for hours.(maybe)😂❤ We got him from the Humane Society, already 23 years ago... We call him Moses...'cause he's forever fiddling around water and stuff, hence the name...

Awwwwww mine is named St. Peter, because he took off for 26 hours and the next day was crying out for me!!!!!! He was a gift to myself after my husband left me. :( I was able to retrieve him, only by the grace of God!!!!!!! Love your name choice!!!

At least if you're lucky Sorry if i'm Depressing, I just miss. One of my. Mine She was somewhere in between a year and 2. She got sick Luckily her friend never Caught anything So I still have her But she doesn't love people. So, I had to get her a new friend. So i'm trying to get them to bond with each other but the new one doesn't Want to Because she only want to be with people

The average age for them to live in captivity is 15-25 years. Will they live longer? Yes. But the oldest cockatiel at my old vet was 26 and is was the vets bird

I'm having the same problem with my budgie and cockatiel. Had 2 budgies, then 1, got a cockatiel and the budgie just wants to be near him, but the cockatiel isn't interested

I got my cockatiel at 3 weeks of age when he was still too small and weak to balance on my finger. After a few months of bottle feeding he was good to go and I launched him into his first flight, which was unsuccessful. The weird thing is that this bird loves me and my family but hates being touched. If you try to pet him he’ll either nibble at you, hiss, or fly away. The audacity of this bird is insane considering that all he ever wants to do is nibble at us all day. What kinda one sided bird is this? 😂

I saved one of these cockatiels up here In North America, it’s been 2 years. I assume it was wild or released because it looked like it wasn’t taken care of, their wing and a leg was broken. They are healthy now, but not so affectionate. Still can’t hold or even get near it without it freaking out

It depends on the breed and color , here in US you may find them more than $300 or $350 , it’s a journal information every shop has different price so in this video I think it’s a approximate idea about price , I also checked in Google it gave the same figure.

here in US , California, I got my first pair of Cockatiel in $400 , I got in $200 a Male Cockatiel, recently we one male in $160.. prices could ups and down , if we go to market then they may demand more than you are thinking depending on what color and breed .. :-)
