If you look at the stomach of the dragon, it is distended. So it is full, and not able to eat the pig. That's why it was eating either stones or nuts, they help with digestion.

It seems many aren't aware of the attributes of Comodo dragons. Their saliva is infectious, also venom. Vastly different to water monitors or such.

The bacteria theory was debunked in 2009. Their mouth flora isn't special for predators. They just have anticoagulant, like many reptiles. Their main weapon are teeth that cut tendons. The wounded adult water buffalo get sepsis from mud holes. Wild pigs have been known to kill big cats, even if rarely. These ones however are smaller banded pigs.

Reptiles often do that either eating vegetation or simply adding stones to their stomach to help in their digestion komodo dragons are like crocodile they don't chew their food they just simply swallow it so they do eat this pebbles or super ripe vegetation to digest their food quickly and just simply vomit those stones if they feel the food in their stomach is grinded already

Komodo drag is very fearsome by its looks. However it’s not as dangerous as one can assume. Once I had a big fish tank in the ground in my backyard. Suddenly I observed that some animal is killing my fishes and I could see carcasses of half eaten fishes floating every morning. I was unable to figure out who was the culprit. Then one day my two German Shepard dogs started barking frenetically. It was around noon and extremely hot summer day. I went out with my hand gun. I saw Komodo dragon was cornered by my dogs. Surprisingly they didn’t attacked him. In short I had found the killer of my fishes and chased him and shot him dead. It was my first encounter and that too in backyard and didn’t know much about this animal. However if I’ll encounter this animal again I’ll not kill him.
