Miss Nancy has come on in leaps and bounds even the past month or two, getting sooo good on the rocks! Thanks! No I actually felt alright! Miss Nancy thinks it’s a form of dangerous madness and she wishes I wouldn’t indulge in it. Nova Scotia wow must be beautiful, yes that sounds a bit cold! Think the water temp here was 12 degrees centigrade here last week, I wouldn’t fancy it getting must colder!

Nova Scotia is beautiful in many areas as are most places with a coastline. I was surprised at how lovely the Cornwall area was in your videos. Water of any kind looks beautiful if it is lapping up on the right rocks or beach! I used F because I thought the UK would use it because of miles and gallons. I guess not. 62F is around 16C which sounds balmy compared to 12C. 16C is swimmable for me for maybe 10 or 15 minutes but 12C is for dunking a a few strikes only!@@missnancysdayoff

@johnm2879 it is a beautiful area, the uk is actually pretty lucky with beautiful countryside but your right any non built up coastline is bound to be fine! The UK is a strange place with C, miles, grams but also something ounces, and litres 😂 I found the water bloody freezing in the summer too it seems to be partly a mindset thing with me!

Navy seals 🤣🤣 best compliment ever I feel very tough now! Miss Nancy was so good she just perched there on the rocks I couldn’t believe it there really wasn’t a great spot for her but she took it on the chin. the rocks were sooooo slippery and so many small pools my hat went in as well as my foot 🤣 that is a solid breakfast, I go through phases and I need to get back into porridge it’s so nice!

I really am, I think I’ve got over a bit of the mental not wanting to go in 😂🙏

She really is 😍 It is typical of greyhound yes they tend to be sweet, shy, patient and loving 🥰 watching the personality of an ex-racer blossom after adopting has been magical! Thank you, I was exactly the same and after spending the summer surrounded by water and hardly ever swimming I felt I had to do something about it 😂 it’s going surprisingly well and I finally have felt the invigoration instead of just the horror of cold water! Excellent glad to have you here 🙏

@@missnancysdayoff Aww bless, greyhounds do sound adorable. Your Nancy has such a lovely face as well.. beautiful eyes. The whole circling and pawing the blanket thing remind me so much of my dog 😂. What have been the greatest challenges in rescuing Nancy? Is the process easy? In terms of Nancy's behaviour initially did it take time for her to settle in to normal life? I know what you mean, I have always lived near water but haven't gone swimming nearly as much as I should have. It is a gift and needs to be experienced. Aww thank you, glad to be here. 😊

They re adorable, I just love their little perfect faces. I’m afraid it’s too much for me to resist Nancys charms and she gets far to many titbits! Pawing up her nice bed I honestly think she does to punish me half the time 🤣 Well the adoption places definitely take it seriously which I think is a good think, as they want to find people the dogs will be happy with and who will be happy with the dogs and not give up on them and return them! It was simple enough once I’d found somewhere who was happy with me and they let me know when Nancy came in as they thought she might be suitable for me. I went to meet her, had a walk and a play, and took her home with me! I think it differs depending where you get dogs from and what the dog is like, but having spoken to people from lots of rescues they are always lovely and helpful, even if they don’t tell you what you want to hear! It definitely took her time to settle in, it is a whole new world for greyhounds so everything is new, going up stairs, table manners, everything they see while out walking. There were some stressful times at first, I think mainly because I got her by myself and I hadn’t had a dog before so everything was new to me too! So we worked through it all together. They do learn very fast but they also need to be given plenty of time to adjust, and a love of love. They have very big hearts and they are really to trusting but you need to earn their respect I think 🤣 after the first year she has just continued growing in confidence and sweetness and it is so wonderful to see. For a dog that had no life, was just a slave in a kennel, I think it’s an amazing experience for a human to be able to give one a home and show them the world, that’s how I feel about Nancy. You’re so lucky to live near water and your right it is a gift I’ve not taken advantage of in the past!

@@missnancysdayoff 😂 yes I can totally empathise with you it must be so difficult not to give too many treats to Nancy. A friend of mine makes her own high value treats from cut up liver that she then cooks on the low heat in the oven for about four hours. It sounds completely minging but her dog absolutely loves them and when she's got them in her hand I see other dogs that walk by start follow following her with their noses in the the air like the old Bisto gravy ad! What's Nancy's favorite treat? Fur-babies do love to punish their parents sometimes! We just love 'em all more the more for it.😂 It is also my experience that animal shelters do take their role very responsibly and seriously. And the animal carers that work directly on the day-to-day basis with the animals absolutely love them. Just watched your video "Adopting a Greyhound? Just read your message to Tori,can I say that you sound just the right type of owner that a greyhound would be happy with,I've owned racing greyhounds twenty years ago,and had both as pets after there racing days,mine were so special to me that I classed both boys as my best friends,also fantastic with my five children and six grandchildren.So in other words what you are watching on this channel is how they are.x❤

Really liking your outlook /approach to life and owning a dog. We started converting a van for days out /trips at the end of the summer, and, not a greyhound, but as first time owners we adopted our first rescue dog in October, and on the same journey of learning together. Devon and Cornwall are places we'd like to see more of with her so great to see some of the lovely places you visit too! 😊 x

@@missnancysdayoff what a great place , i used to walk down there after our tea when we stayed in Pendeen , i was only about 12 /13 , im 66 now and i have great memories of Cornwall . Is the wrecked boat still visable when theres a low tide . Porthcurno was my favorite place in Cornwall that and Sennen Cove .

That’s amazing! I know there is a wrecked boat between Sennen and Lands End, I’ve not seen one at Pendeen but may not have been at the right time. Porthcurno is great I’ve spent quite a bit of time round there, and the Minack Theatre is just incredible. Sennen really feels like the end of the world I love the wild seas!

That shipwreck was the MV Alacrity which ran aground in thick fog onto portheras beach in 1963. They tried to blow it up but it went wrong and scattered the boat all over the cove . You can put it on the web and it comes up with photos. Me and my daughter go swimming in the sea when i go to visit in Ramsgate harbour i only last 5 mins 🥶😃
