KAYAKING GEORGIAN BAY

With all of the time off due to covid-19 we have had much more time to get outside and trip. Abby had never been to Philip Edward Island before so we thought this would be the perfect trip for a couple days. We headed out towards the Fox Islands and made camp for the week.
Thanks to Killarney Outfitters for providing us with kayaks! They are amazing and it was so nice just leaving them instead of having to strap them on the truck!

When kayaking around this area I made the mistake of parking my kayak up on a rock beach 3' above the water. When I woke up my kayak was gone! It floated away and got stuck on the other side of a the inlet bay. Had to swim to get it... then found out it is almost impossible to swim any distance in a dry suit. Finally got to it... then realized my paddle was back at camp! At least I got it, but what a scare stranded on an island... I'll never make that mistake again.

Wow! Glad your ok! It can get pretty rough out there, your lucky to have found your boat! When I worked up there a few years ago we would get calls every now and then from campers who didn’t anchor their canoes or kayaks and most of them sank! That water is usually pretty chilly, good on you for swimming! Haha.

I have stayed on Sly Fox a dozen times at least with my kids, friends etc. I loved your drone footage. I'm pretty sure I met you guys one time when I was paddling by Sly Fox maybe in 2019 or 2020.

We were there in 2020! We had a guy in a kayak paddling by us before lunch on a very hot day. Maybe it was you!

How did you navigate this waterway? Were the Tandem Kayaks easy to paddle alone?

It’s all crown land, I had a map on my phone that tracks us via GPS. These are sea kayaks with gear storage departments, they are meant to be long and handle quite well solo. They make even longer tandem ones but these are 1 person kayaks we are paddling ☺️

Mannnnnnnn, this is unreal. I'm so excited to do this this summer. You guys are awesome, I just needed to see what I'd be getting into and ... Yeah it's exceeded expectation. Any harsh weather/when did you guys go (month)

Hey! The weather wasn’t too bad, rain at the end but that’s it. We went in August, you’ll love it! It’s amazing
