There's no better way to start a summer adventure like getting on Red Squirrel Road. It's unlike anywhere else. My gf & I (from Temiskaming Shores) go to Temagami at least 5 times per year. Such a sacred & beautiful slice of heaven 😊

Thanks for reminding me of the wonderful memories, I had the good fortune of spending every summer on the lake as a child. It looks the same, you sure had good weather.

How many hours it took to get to Topaz lake from George lake campground?
@WildCanoes2 ай бұрын
If you’re taking your time and not rushing I’d give yourself a full day. I’d say 3-4 hours there and 3-4 hours back. I’d leave first thing in the morning too. Also worth mentioning that once you get to topaz don’t keep following the red campsite sign to the left of the lake - campers need their privacy. Once you get to the top of the lake and look down, go right, there’s some nice rocks for sitting and a rock for jumping :)

I have such mixed feelings about videos like this. On one hand, beautiful depiction of a place I yearn for, the setting of almost all of my fondest memories. On the other... Shhhhhhhh, popularity all to often ruins things. Don't make it look too nice, lest it become Muskoka 2.0. Kidding, a bit.. Great video.

Hahaha, I think it’s too remote to ever become that. It helps that it’s a more advanced park and a lot less beginner friendly (aka Algonquin)

It’s cost effective for families who are camping in the backcountry when you break down the cost of the $10-15 freezedried meal bags at a camping store

Do you have to have some kind of food seller license to sell FD candy (packaged)? I was thinking of selling at a local craft fair.
@WildCanoes7 ай бұрын
We only make it for personal use, but I do believe you need a commercial kitchen (inspected and licensed) to sell to others. It’d be worth looking into though! And local fair might not require as most are home baked goods anyways

If we make a bunch of candy, how would we store them to last a long time? How long can the candy actually be stored for?

You’ll need a freeze drier to make it and then if stored properly and sealed with an oxygen packet than it should last for a few years!
