That Kentucky team is one of the 3-4 best college teams I have ever seen in nearly 50 years of watching college ball.

Tell me were you in the joint, the night the Goose scored 41 points? When Rupp's Fab Five won titles back-to-back, they didn't cut no kind of slack!

This was the game that made Indiana Pacers select Rick Robey over Larry Bird. I know some Indiana fans are still upset about that lol

Good fuundamental basketball the players take high percentage shots they take what the defense gives them players nowadays would have had open shots close to the rim and threw it out to the three point line

Bill Walton's record of 44 points in UCLA's win over Memphis St. in the 1973 title game and Gail Goodrich's mark of 42 points in UCLA's win over Michigan in the 1965 title game were both most definitely in jeopardy of falling to Goose Givens that night in St. Louis. And I would contend Goodrich's second-most title game tally of 42 would've fallen, and perhaps Walton's mark of 44 also if Coach Joe B. Hall hadn't pulled Givens out with the other senior starters with a minute and change left in the game, IMO.

@liarandfool Why is Macy a jerk? He lived down the street from me in Peru, IN. His dad, Bob, was my basketball coach. They were some of the nicest people in town. His mom was a peach.
