You should do a video on purchasing a stock 4wd and turning it into a modified 4wd. Cover stuff like insurance and modifications, cost of a newer 4wd plus mods, etc.

I was a mechanic and wrecker operator in the Army, and we fitted all our wreckers with water containers that had a petcock (like on your radiator) for cleaning up

Very good tips. The baby wipes are one of my go to items. Each of my vehicles, RV, popup trailer, and ATV's each have a pack. We just put them in a ziplock bag or snap lock container and add a water till they are soaked. Good to go!

I use a collapsible portable toilet seat with legs ,I got it off the net , it keeps me off the bug line and out of the frost or snow,you can use a plastic bag , but I dig a hole at least 50 cm deep then fill it in and stamp it down ,It lives in my earthquake kit . There was an Aussie guy hunting here in NZ who burnt his toilet paper and set fire to the scrub ,it cost him a small fortune for the helicopter and monsoon bucket . Also use toilet paper to wipe grease and food scraps off cooking and eating gear before washing , it reduces the amount of water you need

Baby powder works great to remove sand off your skin. C A glue is handy to seal cut and ticks. Last but not least a little dab of shampoo x 2, cleans better than a single large dollop, same with toothpaste. B

Another good vid. I love the flat rock back stop behind fire. Another use for the bar soap is to rub dry over hands before greasy work. Makes clean-up a snap after.

Another item to carry is cheap unscented hand sanitizer. It works great as a fire starter fuel, as well as does a wicked good job of removing tree and plant pitch from your skin.

Great video Ronny awesome points nothing worse then waking up feeling horrible. i brought a portable gas shower/water system from a camping store few years back. i just runs of a small battery you can charge before you leave home or in your car ( lasts 5-7days ). and uses the same gas bottles you get with most camping bbq's to heat the water. best thing i ever brought. it comes with a small 10L bag, but the good thing is that the clip on the bag is the same as a normal garden hose, so if your camping next to a creek or river , all you have to do is run the hose out with a float on it and you have as must water as you please. and it takes up hardly any room about 30x30cm. And on the tick bites etc, they is a product you can buy from most chemists in qld, in a rub on or a spray bottle. i cant remember what its called but it has rosemary and cedar wood in it and it works great. you just rub or spray it on your shoes and they wont come near you. a handy trick is to spray abit on a rope and lay it around your swag and the ticks and mozzies stay away.

Barbeque wet wipes......works a treat.

Another way to clean up in camp is to use baby wipes. A bit of preparation makes them very useful. First off, they are larger than you want for camp use. Tear each one in half. Put a small stack of these, say 15-20, into a sandwich sized Ziplock bag. They need to be moist, so add some white vinegar. White vinegar is also antibiotic, so you get a double benefit. When washing in camp, start with your face and neck. Using a new wipe now and then, wash your way down as far as possible. Then start at your feet, and wash up as far as possible. Finally - wash possible. These wipes are invaluable as a follow up after using TP. Prepare and take along two or three baggies full of them. Keep one baggie on you all the time.

Piercing a small hole in a water bottle is also a great way of creating a portable bidet. It doesn't consume much water and saves on wet wipes and loo paper.

There a bit more expensive but you can get T-tree wipes, last time we were in Scotland and the midges were out we used them and they help sooth the bites we had and helped prevent a lot more bites. If you have a good first aid supply shop (chemist, pharmacy) near you have a look at bed bath wipes, these are used in hospitals and home care nurses to bath patients, they are way better to use for a scrub than baby wipes, larger and more robust.

You really can't go past the old baby wipes if you're out for a few days. Like you say, they can clean dishes, bodies and gear. Usable in a tent/swag and burnable. Very light weight, low space and you get 80 or so in a pack. And of course, double as toilet paper.

I pack a small plastic dustpan and brush in the truck. It's perfect to get all the sand out of your tent. I just leave it behind the back seat so it's always there. Nothing worse than sand in the tent...

also I'd recommend "toilet wipes"... same basic thing as baby wipes, but for the kids to throw down the loo as they degrade similar to toilet paper. if you are stuck for burning them, they are far less of an issue to leave behind, as they will naturally degrade way faster than regular baby wipes. (same cost as baby wipes)

I don't know if anyone has said this before in the comments but for me for the mosquitoes etc. I buy a box of just cheap drier sheets and you rub yourself down with one of those like a rag and keeps the bugs away quite well.

Dishwashing liquid and a bit of sugar for grit makes for an excellent degreasing mix after working on the vehicle.

Permethrin is great for ticks, mosquitoes and other insects.....buy the concentrate and dilute with water to 5%. Works great!

Thanks for the tips Ronny! We saw quite a few that we will definitely use going forward. We use a Coleman hotwater on demand (with propane), that way we don't have to be by the truck. We also use lavender, lemongrass, and eucalyptus with our tea tree oil. It helps repel flies (saw you swatting), ticks, and mosquitos. Check us out on Staples Intents!

A good way to save water when it comes to hand hygiene is to actually bring a goodly amount of foaming hand sanitiser, divided up into as many travel bottles as locations it'll be needed. It cleanses your hands completely waterlessly, & it's not as harsh on your skin as the alcohol-based, medical-grade ones are. Not terribly rugged, as tips go, but sometimes utility isn't. 😉

With regards to hand washing if i hand ground in dirt or grease I carry & use some of the industrial hand wash soap with regards to saving water i refill & reuse pump drink water bottles so that they can either be reused for drinking or squirting out the top of the pull push white top so when you have finished you simply push the top down & they never come open even if they fall over. On the subject of 1st aid do you carry a dedicated snake bite 1st aid kit. The other thing i carry on my person is a dedicated snake 1st aid kit, & a digital 406 gps epirb when snakes are involved you only have seconds to apply the pressure bandages & summon help, you man not be able to get back to your vehicle or your camp. The amount of people that I meet on the Rd that have no basic 1st aid training & don't carry a 1st aid kit & a separate snake bite kit in their belt. Yes you can use clothing ect but that takes time & when snakes are involved every second counts. Love ya videos Rgs Wayne

interesting. I use lavender oil to keep the ticks away, i did not know about tea tree oil. I also use Dr Bonners ( lavender )soap when washing hair and body. it's natural and biodegradable, so it's perfect for use in the bush. not sure if you can get it in Australia. but I find that it works fantastic, not only for cleaning but also to keep ticks at bay.

That was THE WORST shower scene I've ever had the misfortune of suffering! There should be some sort of warning about going blind at the start! 😱 Great tip on the tics and I'm going to try that water bottle hand wash idea! And although I'm not manly enough to own a pink toothbrush I do use the same toothpaste... Small world even when your half of it away....

one thing you'd want to do is make a table on excel or word so you can keep track of what you have used in your first aid kit, so for example if you get an injury and use the anticeptic wipes and band aids, then you write down on the sheet of paper that you have used it so that you know what you need to buy when you get back so you don't end up getting another injury next trip but you're missing bits and pieces from the kit

A 20 litre bag is good (with shower head), but hoisting it so its tap is over head-height is awkward. I use a long rope, throw over high tree branch and hoist bag to height needed and attach end to a branch lower down. If I'm with company I'll shower in my Speedos - too easy.
