I'm so sorry! This game did NOT release for the PC, I got it confused! One World only released for all consoles. Really sorry about that mess up

One World looks like a game someone would make for a final project for a programming class.

After the whole harvest moon/story of seasons split I feel like none of the harvest moon games have had any of the charm or personality of the old games.

A shame they are still dragging the good name of Harvest Moon through the mud with these cash grabs, but at least we have the true harvest moon that is Story of Seasons to fall back on.

This one hurts... like this one really hurts. I don't care for the Natsume games, but I never wanted them to fail! It's not even sad anymore after all these misses

Honestly regret purchasing this game and I'm trying to hard to enjoy it. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. And the fact there are DLC's is also pointless. The game is so slow paced but the time is faster than the speed of sound. It is so lifeless. One of my main pet peeves are the villagers named Talkative Woman or whatever. JUST NAME HER BETH OR SOMETHING BASIC

I had no faith in this game to begin with, but I do feel bad about the bachelor's and bachelorettes as I think their designs look really good but they just go to waste on such a terrible game.

That bit about the wish there was more dialogue really makes me appreciate Rune Factory 4. That game has so much dialogue it's unreal. Never played an HM or SoS game but seeing everything seem so soulless is in this game really sad.

I could understand in that one Futuristic HM game where technology is so advanced that people don't know how to actually grow food. But come on! These people live out in the middle of nowhere with nature all around them! NO ONE remembers how to grow stuff? Some of the people do have good designs I enjoyed, so that's one positive. This game should have been $20. lol I'm definitely not wasting my money on this game. I'll wait for Coral Island.

I totally agree. I gave up after Halo Halo because I just couldn't keep going anymore. And I hate when they make it so you can't marry anyone until you've done the main campaign. What's the point of it, then? Pioneers of Olive Town is a hot mess in its own right, but it was at least fun to play. They both felt off-balance to me in different ways, but One World didn't really have any redeeming qualities. I really wanted to give Natsume a chance to surprise me too, and they didn't. Story of Seasons has a strong backlog that will buy them some forgiveness for Pioneers of Olive Town, but Natsume has nothing of the sort because I have not enjoyed a single game they have made.

I actually really like some of the character designs of the bachelors and bachelorettes, and even the animal models don't look too bad. It's just unfortunate that that is the only positive I can find :/

I played this game through till I unlocked the blue feather, and realized I didn’t give two craps about any of the characters to want to marry them so I stopped playing 😂 I tried hard to like this game - the art style of the NPCs, the music isn’t awful, the crop variety is neat, the story wasn’t too bad. I feel like the game was given a “that will do” by everyone who worked on it, resulting in its mediocrity. Was it the worst game ever, no. Would I pick it up again, no.

I didn't plan on getting it since Story of Seasons is coming out soon, but it is so sad how uninspired the Harvest Moon games became. My sister bought one for her DS because she didn't know about the name thing and she was super disappointed because she used to play and love the old Harvest Moons...

Honestly, when they announced the concept for this game I was excited and thought maybe this will be the Harvest Moon game that redeems the "Harvest Moon" name but after seeing the finished product I definitely won't be getting it. I'm shocked they released a game like this. I adored the Harvest Moon games as a kid before the infamous split so this is such a disappointment. The character designs and just the general look and feel of the world just feel completely off. Thank God we have Story of Seasons 💖 I'm so excited to play Pioneers of Olive Town next week and I'm looking forward to seeing the video you make about that!

I think the only thing I've seen about this game that I like is the fact when you talk to charas, they have expressive, moving portraits. It's one of the things I'm really sad that the upcoming Story of Seasons game didn't partake in. It just brings a little more life to the characters, imo. Anyway, can't wait for the 23rd!! How lucky am I that my bday falls on the day of the new game coming out : ) Happy Bday to me, lol

Haven't played a Harvest Moon game since Animal Parade, but I tried New Horizons and Rune Factory 4 Special last year and I'm kinda looking forward to Story of Seasons on Tuesday

Aside from the rapid stamina depletion from what I've seen and the mentioned stamina drain for simply moving, the biggest offense I take from this game is how the world timer moves so fast and even goes on WHILE in a building. I remember HM64 and GBA games very well, and not even those had time go by so fast. I get anxiety just seeing the map legend and trying to figure out how I can get everywhere in time before the day's over. Definitely a no on my list, I'll go back to my A Wonderful Life on Gamecube especially for graphics appeal.

We have short game producing projects at my uni and this easily looks like something we would slap together in 3 months

Also, the 'automation' part of the faming should always be a late game feature, like in Stardew. After a certain period (meet and become good friends with Wizard, unlock Skull Cave and start building a supply of iridiun, which is usually year 2 or 3), you can make sprinklers and junimo huts, along with the Autocollectors for the barn and coop. After you get those, at most you have to go to the collectors since your workload is cut down.

To be honest, I don't hate OW. It was fun enough for a story playthrough. I like the ideas behind it a lot more than the execution, though. It felt to me kind of like a response to ToT. Obviously the SoS games are a better buy every time, but I like OW in comparison to others Natsume made. I do actually like the Harvest Wisps. They have an ingame tracking system for seeds you have found previously, but it is sometimes on the fritz. I also like the looks of the animals (more than I like the bubble ones in FoMT or PoOT). The thing I really hated, though, was the ridiculous difficulty spikes in the last few story quests (the special sheep wool, though there was admittedly a troublesome request you could fulfill to get some) that was further compounded by the arbitrary economy. For a world full of food insecurity, my crops sell for remarkably little and recipes sell for prohibitively high prices. I played the Switch version by the way, and I only had one super serious famerate issue (while I was fighting extreme joycon drift so I struggled for a good 10 minutes to save).

Really wanted to give this game a chance played almost 40 hours beats the game and it drained the crap out of me it just doesn't feel like a complete game and to much works against you

I watched someone else play this game, and you don't need to memorize where each one is, you can track up to 3 crops and it'll show you where the sprites with those seeds are

After you made your last video about the game I had my hoped up for Natsume having done a nice farming sim. This is so sad. I really wanted them to do better, wanted to give them a chance, but recently I've only heard and read bad things about One World. 😔

I’ve been playing it while watching aot, so i only like it because I don’t have to pay too much attention to and it’s a good way to keep relaxed while watching a stressful show ahaha

Also, one thing that I *do* like about this game is the Harvest Goddess's design - it's absolutely stunning .

I actually find this game fun and super addictive lol. As a completionist, this game is a dream because of the massive amount of crop mutations. Something about this review: You mention that each harvest wisp gives you a seed, when they actually give you 3. And you mention that they're random, but they aren't. Each specific wisp will give you the same 3 seeds every time. You also mention that it's going to be impossible to remember which wisps give what seeds because there are so many of them, but that's also not the case because you can use the search function on your map to look for specific seeds lol.

I wanted to play this game to see the progress natsume made. But for the price I just couldn’t pick it up. It’s unbelievable that they charge 80 dollars for this game. I really wanted it to be good. I would love to have two farming sims to occupy my free time. Especially if they were both good and did things in a new and unique way. But for the quality I can justify it. I’m just going to replay stardew valley. Great review tho! Sorry you had to put your time into it haha.

I remember someone said they wished games like this had dialog as full and varying as Hades. I don’t remember who said that but I would hugely prefer that over characters saying the same sentence every day.

I unfortunately picked this up. I had hope. But this once again is a tragedy. Natsume should simply give up. I swear they truly are scam artists. I’m almost positive this was developed for a 7 year old to play. AND even then, it’s a waste. Your video speaks true to everything.

I had considered getting this or the new Story of Seasons coming out soon. Instead I went back and played SoS: Trio of Towns. I think I made the best choice.

I'm really enjoying the game, just finished the story mode. I found it all very charming. The empty world is empty partially because the harvest godess is missing. (the world looks vry different post game) so that's a thing. The harvest wisp system really is interesting and fun. I'm planting crops I'd probably never plant in a traditional farming sim game, so i find it refreshing. You learn to memorize where all the correct wisps for the correct seeds are pretty quickly if you're giving the game an honest try. The story is simple, but the story of each area as you clear it can be charming. Out of 5 zones there was only one that I found lackluster, but it's made up for by having one of my favorite npcs otherwise. It's got it's flaws, but if you want to try something different and can turn off the hate, it's worth a shot. Maybe on sale later, idk.

I completely agree with your thoughts. But something I did learn, the acorns are the best “fuel” for Sparky so you don’t have to waste your other resources.

Man... This is kinda a relief. I know that Olive Town is some kind of mess right now, I don't know how bad of a mess it is, but... I saw people make comments like "One World actually looks better than Olive Town this time?!" And well, that kind of hurt... It would be fantastic if Natsume really did make a good game, but, eugh... Right now I just think it's an insult scam to prey on people who don't know about the IP scuffle... So yeah, seeing Marvelous's entry suffer is not making me happy either. I didn't want this to be the year Story of Seasons lost. Also having crops in multiple climates in One World is giving me war flashbacks to managing waaay too many fields at max capacity in SOS1. It was definitely interesting, but it huuuurt to do lol

Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons graphics just don't have the magic it once had I'd do anything for a game as beautiful as Awl or Save the Homeland

If you finish the game the wild areas come to life with flowers! I really enjoy that the seeds are found in the wild and how mich food you can make out of everything.

Switching tools sounds like the egg in Duncan Hines cake mix. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay by itself, it adds YOU to it. Another option for progression would be spots for permanent buildings in addition to the portable farm.

Something that bothers me to the core is the laziness to the writing and towards the character’s name. For example we have the main bachelors/bachelorettes and then we have town people with the name “worried man” or “suspenseful woman”. OMG, the uninspired and laziness towards simple things.

The one thing I do like about One World is that certain parts of the music used when exploring is very similar to the music in Fantasy Life. It's almost exact, which is a shame, because I absolutely love Fantasy Life. There was so much potential in Harvest Moon: One World that it went unfulfilled.

11:39 This feels weird hearing someone say that, as Tides of Destiny (or Oceans, as it's called here) was my entry to the whole RF/SoS/HM franchise back in early 2014. I didn't even want to buy it, I saw it lying around in one of our local stores (not even gaming store) for 15 bucks. I picked it up looked at it, read the description on the back and thought, huh, sounds interesting. I decided to buy it as I had some spare money left and I didn't regret it. Sure, among all the RF it can be a bit weird, but I'll always have a soft spot for it, as it was my entry to series. I only played SoS/HM games afterwards, once I went through all the other RF games. Lily was best girl. And the Legendary Staff was beyond broken in that game.

I havent played the game but i think not needing to change tools is something i would actually appreciate, but this one hurts even more when poot apperantly has alot of critisism aswell (story of seasons), but atleast 2 games from kickstarter look promising (coral island and ova magica) and rune factory is coming eu doesnt got a release date yet but i think its still this year rune factory 4 was a problem with releasing because bankruptcy but this isnt going on with 5

I feel the same way and also try to give a new game a chance for a few days. But...this one broke me too. Bonding with villagers feels like an afterthought and upgrading tools/your house is bogged down a lot by not knowing where or who to talk to in the empty world. If the developers wanted us to travel to the various villages... they should have given us an inn to stay at so if we ran out of time to get back to our farms we could stop there to rest up. It cost me three days farming once because one event went all night in the winter zone.

Hi, I beat One World, married, and had a kid. I-- I actually enjoyed this game. XD The new Story of Seasons feels.... boring?... and it actually makes me miss this game. The bachelors in Pioneers of Olive town are so bland compared to the guys in One World. Not to mention your own player character. Your character in One World does cute expressions and reactions. In PoOT they're just kinda.... there. The story and moving location to location is nice. I liked to settle my farm in each new area and focus on it and its special local seeds. It is sad you can't teleport with your horse. But I don't think your supposed to teleport and then travel some large distance. You teleport, grab a few seeds in the area and talk to your favorite people there, then you head back with the teleport back to your house. I'm sorry I don't mean to go on a rant about this so I'll stop here. I just wish people would put in a little more effort for trying the game.

I think the game was pretty game is pretty good. Realistic the taking everything with would be to overpowered it makes more realistic and the crops aren’t objects or originally part of machine so it makes sense and you get to teleport back to where town or mine where your crops and there close to the town so it’s that bad. I think characters story matched they’re personality and the town and more real. Honestly I like that people stay at area there suppose because it makes easier to find instead traveling endless to finding them. I like the like festivals so far to.

Im so glad i waited for Olive Town instead, I wanted to buy this at first to fill the 1 month void but luckily amazon reviews warned me

The whole time I was staring at this gameplay I kept thinking of ways to improve its world... Like overhauling the village designs, giving the desert town a spread out layout with caravans and traveling markets, long strings of colorful lantern lights through the town center... Slow starts to rainfall accompanied by the soft crescendo of pizzicato on stringed instruments into a downpour with a soft melody... Characters with legitimate backstories, needs, wants, personalities that interact with each other, creating a tight-knit little world within each village. Some kind of mini storyline for each village that connect in an overarching story across the areas that utilize the villagers in a meaningful way, like a ritual to save the Harvest Goddess. I feel like I could go on for a while-there’s so much empty space to fill in this game.

I did really enjoy this game and yes, story of seasons is good but out of all the harvest moon games, I like this the game the best and I have played most of the other games

I literally feel obligated to finish this game to see my $50 through but I find it more stressful to force myself to finish it than how stressful I find my job to be.

I wish that once we got the ruins fixed in each town thing that you could buy the seeds without looking for the whisps

I love how chill you are and want to find out why others enjoyed it. I loved the wisp system, this by no means was a perfect Harvest Moon but I did enjoy it. I loved that it was open world but hated how restricted paths were. I loved how simplified farming was by choosing the right tool for the moment, though I enjoyed this I do wish that you had to equip the stuff yourself to stop accidentally using something you did not mean to. ^^ I loved how more of the game opens after you beat the main story, it makes it feel like there is more to do. It is farming so it feels very repetitive and becomes repetitive when you finish quests the same ones continue to pop. I would love to see quests that are similar but maybe make the rewards different each time instead of giving the exact same rewards for each quest. It literally just becomes after you finish all the quests, getting all recipes, ore, refined ores, fish, animals and that. I loved the game because what it did well I felt it did really well but it also had it's cons. I actually loved this one better than most other Harvest Moon's to this point. I got my eyes on the Winds of Anthos rn, hoping that takes the good things of One World and just improves other areas where perhaps One World failed.

I have to admit all your points are valid and while there are a ton of things I would change about this game there’s a lot that I like first off the amount of crops you can plant is great I never move my farm with crops down I always finish them off and re plant at a new location once I’ve beat the level also I don’t plant crops all around the world that’s so unnecessary. Also you can search for a specific plant or flower once you have found it at least once so you don’t have to remember where they are all. I do like that there is always something to do but ya there’s a lot I would change. Happy gaming

I do actually like the harvest wisps, i like them because its different to what I'm used to with farming sims and its cool to be able to plant crops without needing to spend money on the seeds. the seeds in this game though, once you do unlock them, are absurdly over priced, they don't really want you to buy seeds at all even once you do unlock them. Also I don't know if you know this but there is a thing in the menu that lets you search the map for wisps that provide certain seeds and it will show them to you. Not being able to fast travel or call my mounts from a distance drove me crazy, the time in the day actually moved a little too fast and when I was trying to mine for adamantite ore it took me a really long time to get that far down in the mine, not because of stamina, but because it would get too late in the day and i hadnt quite managed 10 floors so id have to try again a couple days later. I think the crop mutations are really cool and I even enjoyed those in Harvest Moon Light of Hope, but I do kind of hate traveling to like 10 different fields to take care of a bunch of different crops and hope I get the mutations. There are so. many. too many even All of the characters are kind of boring and lifeless. I went through and got married and I'd hoped that the heart events would give me the same kind of joy as I got back playing old harvest moon games, story of seasons, or stardew valley, but they all fell way short and were overall pretty boring. The romance aspect is really important in these games for me and it just was not even a little satisfying in this one. also you only get notified about like, the festivals like a week before they happen for the first time and I literally could never remember that they were happening and only being able to sign up until like 10 am with how fast time goes was difficult. There is a lot I can complain about, but its not like i didnt have any fun at all, at least I finished the main story and got married. Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town will get to me tomorrow and I'm just hoping that one will scratch that itch i always have for a good farming sim.

not only that but the prices for the upgrades for your farm and house are outrageously expensive, you have to spend HOURS on HOURS of grinding, you cant date, anyone, with the same gender, and the game forces you to jump through the hoops just to...and you guessed it. to get MARRIED! the graphics are Terrible the characters feel lifeless and hallow

Story of Seasons was so beautiful i absolutely loved it being able to pick up and place my farm houses around making clothing and jewlery all those made it so much more fun not just fishing mining and growing crops and getting married

I got this to give it a try. I thought the mechanics would make up for the graphics deficit, but wow it does not. you really describe how I feel about this game well.

One World just wants you to destroy your A button. Tbh the more I see reviews on how bad Natsume did it, the better I feel about buying Stardew last January.

When Natsume and Marvelous split I was excited to start getting two farming games, then when HM the lost valley came out I kept hearing about how it would randomly crash on people so I waited and got HM light of hope, I was hoping that the games had gotten better with time but they didn't, it honestly feels like they're just throwing games out there because they have the Harvest moon label on them so people that are unaware of the break off with marvelous still buy the games.

The first time I saw the logo, it was a dead giveaway. Look at the font for 'One World', it looks like a first grader did it on MS Word using wordart.

I forgot to say having a tool wheel like AC/NH would be awesome and solve the problem I mentioned in my big paragraph of what I liked/disliked :)

Pretty new to the series, but I did do a quick skim of Harvest Moon history after picking up Pioneers of Olive town. And far as I can tell, unless Natsumi can prove they're able to make a good HM game, which they've had a bad track record with so far, it's best to just jump ship to Story of Seaons which, from my understanding, is literally just Harvest Moon in all but name, since Natsumi owns the Harvest Moon name and they had to change it.
