Wildfire Smoke: Canada to Florida?
Wow - so here are reports of wildfire smoke actually coming from Canada and arriving in Florida and even south Florida this morning - that is at least 1,400 miles away or 2300 kilometers. From the Canadian border.
Here are some comments from the weather forecast videos:
One person said:
Can see the haze here in Hillsborough County! Maybe that's why I have a massive headache.
And this person said:
It's here in Broward County Florida also wow !
This person posted:
I started coughing my throat starting hurting than i got sent home from school and it all started in P.E 5 minutes into P.E class
Adn this person posted:
145 air quality in Orlando right now - which was about 3PM this afternoon.
Some people posted that they don’t think it is smoke from Canada:
This person said
This is definitely NOT SMOKE from Canada
And this person said:
We are truly sheep to believe smoke is traveling this far with the rolled-eye emoji.
So, I guess if it isn’t the smoke from Canada - it’s gotta be Chemtrails? Yes, no?
IDK but I do think it’s the Canadian smoke.
Look here we can see the current air quality is 107 in Miami - which they state is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups - and over here we see the Miami air quality is considered unhealthy for PM2.5 - which are the smaller particulates but it has a 51 reading for PM10 - the larger particulates which is considered moderate. So, as you could expect it is the smaller particles that probably travel the furthest distances from these wildfires. And unfortunately - the smaller particles are more damaging to our health than the larger ones. Wildfire Smoke: Canada to Florida?
2 weeks ago - Professor Joseph Allen the director of Harvard’s Healthy Buildings Program
said - “studies show that fires on the West Coast also affect the air quality on the east coast, as well. It literally blankets the country. Air pollutants can travel even thousands of miles.”
And he also said, “Some of the air pollutants from coal-fired powerplants in China can be detected on the West Coast of the US - as the pollutants can travel THOUSANDS of miles.”
So we gotta realize wildfire smoke is definitely not just limited to the state, region or even country - that the actual fires exist in. That wildfire smoke can travel over a thousand miles and affect multiple states.
I have a link in the description to a video of the best air purifiers for wildfire smoke which I made several weeks ago - thank you!

Hi Doug I have some more info for you 😊 Was talking to a guy who works for Leitz a German company who make air purifiers. He told me they had their filters tested to EN1822 standard by a reputable company in Germany same place IQ Air was tested. At MPPS the efficiency was 99.98% but they also had a typical America True HEPA filter tested. It had an efficiency of 99.5% at MPPS which would be classed as E12 standard that's one below Hepa13 standard. So there's the difference. An American True HEPA 99.97% at 0.3 microns when tested to EN1822 standard has an efficiency of 99.5% at 0.1 microns. (MPPS) 😔

Hey Marcus - this is interesting and thanks for sharing.👍 1) So they tested the individual filter but not the filter in the machine/air purifier - is that correct? 2) Either way - many sources out there state HEPA filters will filter particles larger AND smaller than .3 microns BETTER than they will be able to filter the .3 micron-sized particles as .3 microns is "the hardest particle size to filter". And then they will show some images and graphs that support their claims. I never believed that this is true for all cases/air purifiers/filters, etc. It could be true sometimes... but almost nothing is true 100% of the time with different filters and air purifiers, etc. IMO. 3) I wonder if the "True HEPA American filter" they tested - actually ever really performed at a HEPA Level in the first place... as I believe many will not. Thanks for the info! 😃

No I don't think the filter was tested inside the Purifier but it shouldn't be difficult to seal the filter inside the machine it just needs a nice gasket and if the Hepa filter is before the motor the negative pressure produced by the fan will pull the filter tight against the unit. And yes it was a Dupont True Hepa filter, they also tested it at 0.3 microns and it had an efficiency of 99.97% 😊

Hey Marcus, thank you for the answers - that is great info. I think you are becoming my favorite poster, lol! 😄 ***I just found out one of the major air purifier players in the US does NOT have 3rd party HEPA testing on their units and I am honestly Shocked, and Totally Disappointed. I thought they had this for many years as they will say they have "3rd Party Testing". Well, they have a bunch of different "3rd Party Trials" with different companies, environments and patients involved but none of these "3rd party trials" really impressed me all that much. Nor did they provide true black and white data that their air purifiers work very well. **Now, I KNOW they work well for many people as I've spoken to many of their customers through the years but - again, I was kinda shocked they don't have the 3rd Party Testing reports that I would expect from a reputable air purifier company. **And I'm thinking - if these guys don't have it - what's up with all these other companies? **So, as I have been thinking for quite a while, when an air purification company says they have "3rd party testing" - there are many different things that this could mean. Thanks Again! 👍 @@2711marcus

Yes that is very dissapointing. We need regulation because as it is right now the manufacturers can say what they want. Hopefully this will happen in the near future. Haha i'm honoured to be your favourite 😂😂

You know - the more I think about it - I think they may have tried to get 3rd party testing for HEPA performance in the past, but they didn't hit HEPA at 99.97% in the test so they won't publish the results. Therefore, as an alternative - they get involved in all these "Trials" with different well-known medical companies as "3rd party references" for marketing purposes. This makes sense to me. They - like so many other air purifier companies on the market, talk about having "Medical Grade HEPA" filters and "99.97%" and all the industry buzzwords but they don't have a serious 3rd party reference proving this performance with their air purifiers. So, maybe their filters are "HEPA" etc. but overall performance of the actual air purifier (which is the only thing that matters) falls short of HEPA performance. 1) I've seen their solution informally tested with a $3,000 laser particle scanner and it performed at 98% on Low speed, 96% on Medium speed and 92% on High Speed. Air purifiers generally have a harder time filtering well at higher speeds and CFMs and that totally makes sense to me. The more CFMs - the harder it is to filter well, IMO. Now, I don't completely trust any particle scanner or Air quality monitor as I think they are oftentimes inaccurate but that test did have a lasting impression on me. 2) Since many of their customers have had great results with their solutions - I eventually came to the conclusion that HEPA air purifiers don't actually have to work at a HEPA level to improve people's environments and breathing... they just have to "approach HEPA" so to speak. As I know of many different air purifiers that have helped people through the years but I still believe over 90% of them don't work at a HEPA level - especially when they have dust and debris accumulated in their filters and they are run on Medium to higher speeds. 3) Oh well, I am still greatly disappointed in them but I think it may just show how difficult it is for an air purifier to hit HEPA in a serious test - especially when a lot of CFMs are involved. @@2711marcus
