It is slightly weird that we are trying to cure the symptom and not the disease.

Huh, sounds to be a common trend.

Can you specify the diseases?
@pre_instar Жыл бұрын
@@mgminternational367 climate change ofc
@vasarmilan Жыл бұрын
Disease is global warming. With that said, forest fires also increase that by emitting CO2 and decreasing tree populations, so this is not just the symptom.
@pre_instar Жыл бұрын
@@vasarmilan well forest fires emit less than 5% of total CO2 in emitted in a year, and while this is a valid argument, but using technology in other cases especially energy would cause a much much bigger impact

Interesting, i’ve always wondered why we didn’t have heat detection satellites that can detect fires and send out a drone to put it out… Pano sounds awesome!

If we want to avoid mega-fires, we should have a lot more of small-fires to remove the fuel on the ground in a controlled way

Considering that this was the hottest summer for over 120,00 years this is much more needed

How could the forests manage wihout Pano 1000 years ago.
@nottheone582 Жыл бұрын
they were self managing, as well as with help from indigenous tribes who did small controlled burns. part of the problem with forest management is they're strictly anti-fire now due to encroachment of human settlements close to major forests. they can't do controlled burns anymore so when fires start, there's so much dry plant material it's like kindling

Climate change is making fires more frequent and severe. The fires in Canada this summer are an example of this and the fire data over the last 10 years supports this.
@nottheone582 Жыл бұрын
putting fire out immediately is a band-aid solution. it's still going to burn at some point, and ever year it's postponed the conditions ensure the fire will be worse, more lives lost, more homes lost, etc. it's a losing game
