Join me today on a tutorial styled video where I break down my processes and techniques for editing and printing my photography. This is how I edit the majority of my work and hopefully future proof it for sale. I'll take one particular image from import, to Lightroom for global adjustments, and then into Photoshop for the details. After the adjustments join me in my makeshift print shop as I complete the process with the final result! As always, drop any tips or suggestions in the comments so we all can grow and learn!
Programs used:
Adobe Lightroom Classic
Adobe Photoshop 2020
Topaz Denoise AI (normally)

For sharpening in Lightroom try: Radius to the minimum (+0,50). Details to the maximum (+100). Masking usually around 2/3 up, you have to tinker a bit around to find the best value for your cameras resolution. Adjust the strength as desired. Only downside is, that Lightroom doesn't offer this as a local adjustment. However, it works well for most images anyways.

Your images are really beautiful! I really enjoy your videos. In regard to selecting your subject with the lasso tool, (I am sure you probably know this already), but there is a quicker way to do it. Just go to the select menu and click on “select subject“. It didn’t use to work that great, but it does a pretty amazing job now. Just thought it might save you some time if you didn’t know. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful images!!

I love printing my images - it’s so underrated in the digital era. An image is only finished when it‘s on paper. The final print of your artwork is so satisfying. Glad you did this video, really enjoyed it, big fan of your work and learned a lot about the membrane on the eagles (and sharks) eye! The print is awesome- Thank You and keep safe.

I truly enjoy your videos. I should take your advice and start printing. It’s a real shame most of our images just sit on hard drives and never get the attention they truly deserve. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love big prints, was not crazy about the image and then I saw the print come out and loved it. I did a photo project hiking across California and I made a photo book and the amount of fulfillment and excitement I got from printing and sharing the book was as if amazing as the adventure itself. Keep up the good work and the videos.

Nice print and nice bird mate. A tip, if you want 300 ppi when you resize on photoshop, tick the “resample” box and leave it to automatic. This will enlarge your image and keep it at 300 ppi. Photoshop does a great job, but the best app for enlarging is topaz gigapixel in my opinion. Try it and you’ll remember me

Thanks again for sharing this, I fully agree on the importance of printing - I am just surprised it was that easy here and that you did not have any color space management in your workflow; I spend so much time soft proofing my images before printing so that I have the exact colors I want printed and no strange effects !

@cameronroxberry7014

that’s his nictitating membrane, sort of like an eye lid. used for protecting his eye or even keeping it wet.

I thought so but seeing the eyes is so important...
@cameronroxberry7014
@cameronroxberry7014 4 жыл бұрын
Roy Bixby for me, the intent was to capture the membrane on this one man.. i wanted it fully closed exposing the veins over the eye. But i do completely agree with you. for 90% of wildlife photography the eye is the subject.

Informative video. How do you prevent the picture being noticeably darker after printing though? I understand that on the screen its LED backlit, but if one would want to keep the brightness the same, is there some workflow for that?

You pro guys make me laugh. You have 20ks worth of gear and a bird so close and still, then show us how to edit it. That photo straight from the camera is better than anything I could ever produce with the wild life here in Bulgaria and my gear. Why not show us an average shot and then show off your editing skills.
