As you know by now, Ive been experimenting with new technology that uses A.I. to increase quality of old 8mm and super8mm film. The A.I. is able to upscale the frame-rate from 15 FPS (frames per second) to an incredible 60 FPS. This is a BIG deal as it makes the video less choppy and very smooth. On top of this it allows us to upgrade the format to 1080 or even 4K.
In the video you see Marine pier, the boardwalk, the tram car, the Walt Whitman bridge and more in 60FPS at 1080.
While this doesn't fix the grain of the film it still makes this visually appealing. I'm sure with advances in technology we will see A.I remove the graininess.
In this video I also show you a side by side comparison.
Here is one thing to keep in mind. One minute of video takes about 3+ hours to process to upscale and upgrade.
The original video took about 7 hours to get it to this quality.

There were parts of the boardwalk I recognized and it kind of looks funny not seeing it the way it is today.. it’s pretty cool, back then they couldn’t edit the video like today first thing they recorded is what they got..

Can remember going on the wild mouse at night. My older brother frightened the hell out of me. He said if car started shaking it was going to come off the track and we would drown in the ocean. he was sitting behind me shaking the car. Best thing in North Wildwood only had to walk 30' to reach ocean.

Your brother was half right. The wild mouse was a dangerous coaster. There were only two rides my father wouldn’t let me ride on back then. One was the Wild Mouse and the other were the swing gym cages. They are also the only two rides that I saw the paramedics take people off in stretchers multiple times.

Anthony Boardwalk I like the original 8mm footage and the enhanced footage however didn't notice enough of a difference to warrant using the a.i. enhancements as a standard. I personally believe it keeping the original footage pure and intact but storing it on more future prove technology.

I agree with you. The original film is clear and I can see the colors while, the enhanced version is a bit more steady, I don't see the need for such expensive equipment for such a small difference. I prefer to see the original film the way it really looks.

Unfortunately, it's not in this video, but some of my fondest memories of going to Wildwood from Chester, Pa. was taking the ferry across the Delaware river at Flower street! If you can get ahold of any old video of that I'm sure the many ppl who traveled that route would appreciate those old memories!! Thanks so much Joey! I'm always looking 4ward to new/old videos from you! Stay safe n God bless!!!❤🙏🇺🇸😎👍

Back in early 60's we took a ferry from around center city to an amusement.park that I think was below the Philly airport. Had a cousin who worked for the Philly Navy yard back in the 1960's. He lived in New Jersey and refused to pay rip off philly wage tax due to he never worked or traveled into or thru Philly due to taking the ferry that pulled up to a dock at federal land ( yep Naval Yard was federal land not Philly land ).

I have something I think you would like. I'm from South Jersey as is all my family. My uncle collected everything from the area and recently sent me a bunch of things he moved out of the area years ago. Their was something that doesn't mean anything to me but after reading your post it would to you. You should have it.

I enjoyed seeing the comparison. Definitely some improvement with the enhanced version, but would still like to ensure that the original can be preserved as best as possible. Many times the issue becomes converting these videos to newer formats as the technology changes or the having the equipment that can play back obsolete formats.

great memories Joey I learned how to walk on the boards in 1962. The bridge is actually the Delaware Memorial I think.
