~ Patrick Simmons ~
Patrick Simmons is no small-time guitar player. From an early age Pat found himself drawn to blues, folk, and genres from all corners of these United States, and was no stranger to taking the stage. After meeting Tom Johnston and John Hartman, soon-to-be-fellow Doobie Brothers, in 1969, it was only a matter of time until Simmons and his Brothers began to rehape the American blues as we knew it.

Simmons seems like a low key guy that could be anyone's great neighbor. Plus he could certainly teach me a few tricks on that guitar. Doobies music is timeless, the mark of all great music. There is so much talent in their band but together there is great and timeless music. Hope the Doobies go on forever. God Bless them all.

One of the great finger style guys around. Also, a really nice guy. Met him at a record/book signing store a few years ago. He went out of his way to chat for a while with my wife and I. Very humble and sweet guy. Thanks Pat!

How can you do that? Only a great artist and performer can play like this. I still have the original LP with this song and another gem called Precis and...I keep listening!

Absolutely superfluous. He has some damn strong fingers. I very much appreciate you sharing. I remember seeing the Doobie Brothers in Aptos, and they had every person in the audience up and dancing, and I mean everyone.

Pat Simmons is a National Treasure and one hell of a guitar player. The Doobie Bro's went through some changes throughout the years, but it was determined by the musicians themselves that if Pat was not part of the band, then there was no Doobie Bro's and yes he is a super nice guy.

Check out him and McFee playing this in a duet (at their 2013 Osaka tour). It's amazing that they are so competely in time with each other that if you close your eyes, you cannot tell it's two guitars, not one...

Fantasique. There was a lot to like about the album "Stampede" but that was one of the very best, along with "Neal's Fandango" and "I Cheat the Hangman", my favourite tracks off that album.
