ALL FACTS!! I have to go BACK to the 90's early 2000 to get real music, R&B/Hip Hop was blowing up all together as Wiley said which helped bust UKG Drum & bass etc..as I was a raver as well..think of how many samples was used over that time period. That's why we have so many classics!! listen to the radio now (I dont) its slit your wrist music, controlled on purpose IMO all sad and mono sad depressing no vibes types of tracks on their playlist.

This actually explains even a lot of the beef in the early days of grime, the artists saw how Dizzee blew and how it was basically one or two spots which made them even more competitive, even when they were all going radio together. The way the music industry is set out is dirty tbh

The issue is in the US and in hip hop and RnB most artists get used and don't get the acknowledgment that they deserve, they also don't get paid properly for the work that they've done on other artists work. I've seen too many UK artists around his age who keep saying the US is better when it comes to the entertainment industry - when it's anything but.
@wezdizzle2722 Жыл бұрын
Around his age? Wiley’s about 43 years old and been on the scene 20 odd years - one of the originals from when hiphop and rap became credible over here - he’s been a huge influence on the way it developed from drum n bass, jungle & garage mc’s to grime & more lyrically led rap rather than being hype men or just bigging up the DJ. I was a huge hip hop fan through 90s etc when the only good stuff came from America and never thought I’d see the day when our scene was even half as good but these days I think when it comes to pure laying down bars that it’s better here and best stuff from over there is the old stuff - Kendrick Lamar and coast contra only ones that stand out for me - in USA it’s just become pop music or some dickheads who more worried about getting tattoos all over their face than what they put out

@@joepduijvestijn9786 its not dying thanks to the internet its everywhere just have to dig more. high focus, blah records, for example. there are so many record companies and independent artists. dying in mainstream maybe im not sure i dont listen to radio or what trendy music is currently about. what jme said people who like good music seek it out. whatever you imagine in your head someone has done it. im talking about every genre. you like this song but want more a darker vibe its been done just search for it

There’s more independents in the UK. Most American artists are owned by the same company that’s why they’re “more together” 👍
