A laser ray is all that will not deflect in the wind, however, given variable air density from differing wind velocity, even this laser ray will wander on the target. ie the twinkling star effect. That must effect real world ballistics through a poorer scope at longer ranges. ie your target is suffering mirage even when you think it is not relevant. Nice practical video ..Thanks.

Hi R Good to see you back. I have been working up my 7mm rem mag with the Delta 4.5-30 we talked about (waited for the locking turrets version which took for ever!) SD down in the 15-20 fps but thinking of a rebarrel which has lead me towards a custom rem clone action with barrel attached. Have you any thoughts on big 7's and rem clone actions?

It isn't "noise" ..it is stacked error. If you add up all the inputs that would produce a net error, let's say that comes out to +/- 1.5MOA. Shooting at a 4MOA target, if your rifle is capable of 1/2MOA, then if everything "goes wrong" but you make a perfect shot at center mass, you'll hit the target edge. If your rifle is capable of 1/4MOA, now you have some additional error budget for when you as the shooter don't make a perfect shot. If your rifle is only capable of 1MOA, then things get dicey. If you miss off to the left or right, is that because you didn't make a perfect center mass shot? Or is it because of the gun's inherent dispersion? Or is it you did make a perfect shot, but you didn't accurately calculate the net error, and it was really +/- 3.25MOA? It becomes impossible to identify the cause of a miss (that's assuming you get a good call on where the actual point of impact was, relative to your point of aim). Further, if you made a poor shot off the 4MOA target by an additional 4MOA, you might still hit the target if the net error is 4.25MOA! This is why in long range shooting, we hedge our POA on the target such that we have some leeway. For example, in a Left to Right wind, but we aren't sure, aim left edge such that whether the wind is 10mph or 15mph, it will still hit across an acceptable impact area. Bottom Line: Skills absolutely come first. But you need a rifle that is better than you are if you want to actually improve, otherwise you can never properly diagnose your shooting capability and errors.

Are there any none €1500 - €4000 scopes that are reliable for small game, and pest control under 200 meters. Im looking for a ffp mrad mil mil scope 0.1mrad click , without illuminated xmas reticle. Up to 24 magnification. Parralax side adjustment . High turrets that i can use in cold weather.

Case lube left on a case will give a 1'' flier at 100 yards, and when it comes down to it when you own 2 lathes as i do , 1 out of 3 to 1 out of 5 even top shelf barrels will give you perfect cold bore first round shots even after perfect load development!

Given that the very best loaders will have an understanding of minimum possible variance in FPS then we know what the limit on vertical is. So Max potential on one dimension is absolute. At 1200 yards what does 30 FPS +/- on a 3000 FPS round equate to in minutes ... anyone?

Great video. I have problem with the speed of my bullets. I use an electronic scale (gem pro 250) and have a great accuracy (5.216 grams +/- 0.001 grams), but my speed is like on 5 bullets 919 m/s, 918 m/s, 920 m/s, 920 m/s, 908 m/s. And after the five next are like 902 m/s to 922 m/s. I do neck sizing only and check the volume of my cartdrige. I use Ramshot Magnum and this powder graphites my barrel very fast, after 5 shots (0.35 moa if I do my job, 0.45 if not) my group expand to 0.82 moa and keep between 0.65 to 0.82 moa. If clean well my barrel (remove copper and co), go back to 0.35 moa the fie first shot. I'll try Vitha N165 powder when I get it. I shot .300 wm in a new Lothar Walter barrel (stainless steel, 100 shots right now). I load at 0.008" from the land and use SMK 190 Gr. If you have a tip for my problem after 5 shots (hot or cold barrel, same result), I get it ;) Thanks for this video again.
