There is no race. These are two different missions. The Luna 25 was planned to be launched in 2021 got postponed. That's all there is to it. Lets hope both the missions are successful.

Luna 25 is a lander, Chandrayan 3 is a lander + rover. The rover is supposed to study the craters of the moon which are permanently shadowed and that the probe orbiting can't study, these craters are suspected to have cristaline water and exotic minerals

India's first soft lunar landing was failed in 2019 so we are already late by 4 years this time I will pray it become 100% successful. While India has already landed two times on South Pole of Moon first during Chandrayaan 1 in 2008, Second in Chandrayaan 2 in 2019. We are absolutely not racing with Russia. 🇮🇳🇷🇺

The first unmanned Luna landing was in 1959 by the USSR on 13 sep 1959 by the Luna 2 and the first soft landing in 1966 (Luna 9) by the same country

We'll be landing about 600km away from the actual south pole But that area is considered a South pole region, so we are technically landing on South pole We did a hard land of actual south pole in 2008

It’s never about the race. It’s all about what scientific goal we are out there to achieve. Since budget was always India’s constraint, it is in our best interest that we don’t send the spacecraft to moon within a span of 3 days. Hence we rely on incremental orbit switching. Media unnecessarily hypes things by using words like space race and what not. Go anywhere and we are so obsessed with being first everywhere say SSC, HSC and maybe UPSC and what not. Latest is this race in space. Let’s pause and enjoy this historic moment for India 🇮🇳 instead of comparing ourselves with countries who have way high space budgets.

@@sm1256 Chandrayan 3 is estimated to land on the 23rd of August, while it only takes Luna 25 4 1/2 days to get there after launch, and they're launching tomorrow, so yah....assuming the launch and landing are both successful of course

@@sm1256they follow different trajectories ISRO's is quite complex and orbits a lot of times before doing a slingshot and again makes many orbits in moon gravity before landing while LUNA 25 doesn't and is simpler which makes it possible for them to land earlier than India despite being late, unless one of them just fails

I don't why people are calling his a race. Space missions are all about demonstration of capabilities and explorations. It doesn't matter who enters first, if we Indians are successful, we will achieve our objectives. The Russians are without any doubt among the best in the field. It can well be seen in their numbers of missions and their rocket capacity, so powerful that it can take the payload directly into the orbits of moon. We must look forwards towards achieving this capability in future. The way we have done it so far, I can very confidently say that we are going to do it. Wishing the best for both the missions.

What kind of processor are the Russian using in their LUNA-25 onboard computer? Doesn't it require very high computing power to land on a very difficult part of the moon? Does Russia uses their own onboard high-end computer components?

Once Vikram lander reaches its pre configured circular lunar orbit three days from now, why will it take Vikram another three extra pre-landing days before commencing the soft landing . Since Vikram lander has already separated from the propulsion module, would have expected ISRO to try out the four thrusters on Vikram lander and thereafter fire these thrusters intermittently in order to slow down Vikram lander to its soft landing speed therefore are these three extra days in circular orbit meant for ISRO to have good look on the lunar landscape around the south pole and decide on the best possible site for Vikram to land and Pragyan Rover to travel and also ensure that the soft landing is carried out in daylight hours thereby ensuring solar panels on both Vikram & Pragyan are fully charged

china,USA,Russia have morr powerful rockets so that the missions are direct from earth to moon. the rockets and control systems of the other countries including India, Japan, Europe, Israel are weaker, so 45days are necessary.

Ch3 will connect to L25 lander and identify the best spot for landing in case its ground connection fails with isro and vice versa. Vikram lander and Pragyan rover will connect to L25 lander of Russia which inturn will connect to isro via russia... Putin n Modi's strategy is amazing 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏.

After crash of Russian Luna 25 Now world has eyes on Indian Chandrayan 3. Its Orbotor is already rotating arround moon. The Lander Vikram is separated from Orbitor 3 days ago. Its lading is Scheduled on Aug 23, 2023 at 18:05 O' clock indian Time (GMT 12:55 hr ) Indian lander Vikram is carrying moon Rover too.
