Once cobblemon is more polished up like you said with the evolution animations and maybe some more unique structures like Pixelmon I could see it dethroning Pixelmon.

Once Cobblemon catches up to Pixelmon, yes 100% Especially to the players that want to play Minecraft. I think of it as this. Pixelmon is for people that want pokemon, it's hard to add other mods into the mix and you usually choose between Minecraft or Pokemon. While Cobblemon is pushing Minecraft with a side, a delicious entree of Pokemon. The way they are incorporating pokemon into the Minecraft mechanics make it feel so much better. And the models don't hurt my eyes since they don't clash with the style
