singles need to do more before we see these boxes keep climbing. we also dont know the x factor and how many did they sell on amazon? Amazon had pre orders up for a very long time so it could be a good amount hitting the market when they start showing up.

My take is they had fears of new, more popular products which have huge licensing fees completely dominating the absolute disaster which is Karlov Manor and they decided to wait for sell through, which is never coming at this rate. They know if there is abundant new boxes of something more appealing that it will hurt the sell through. Does that mean they are holding it back? I'm not sure. It could also just be a combination of factors like already a lower print run.

Rapid growth of any product like this is dangerously interesting. It's not healthy for the market but I'm curious how high it'll go.

It seems to be a case where one deck is likely to outshine the others, as a lot of the attention appears to be on the aura and equipment deck and the Caesar deck.

I am very curious if this is considered a successes in bringing new players in to magic? because it seems the only people who are getting collector boxes are already established magic players. In my local store no one will have collector boosters for sale so I don't see the natural progression happening new players will just be like what's the point to even bother trying out collector boosters.

Right which kinda means underprinting it is whatever, the bigger critique then becomes not having Fallout Play boosters. Although tbh my sense with these Universes Beyond things is that WOTC actually has no idea how big the fandom overlaps are and is scared of overprinting them.

The lgs I went to, had three. Said he sold through one box in 20 mins at $35 a pack. He saved two for his regulars 🫠 F me right ?

@@blahblahmetal3 That’s kinda exaclty what happened over here I was able to get 2 packs for 30$ in the morning at one my of locals. When I came back to play commander at night everything was gone 🙃. Every other LGS was selling packs as singles for 40$ to 45$ and I’m not paying that. If you check Amazon though you can see there will be a res stock so if you want to get a box check that out or ask your LGS in a week or so if they are getting more.

Ultimately it's just a "wait and see" situation right now. If anyone just wants the cards to play with them, then they just need to buy the deck with the cards they want. If you buy all the decks, you're guaranteed to get all of the new cards. Since the decks can be reprinted as many times as WotC is able to do so, the price of these packs is moot.

I just want magic to be a card game I can play with my friends, not some sort of god damn Wall Street investment. Hasbro needs to cut the shit and make these accessible to everyone if they are gonna run advertising this hard up to release. 200$ a box is reasonable anything more is just locking stuff to people that buy spare cars for fun.

The price of modern is going to keep spiking. They have no reason to stop, players that can't pay won't quit, they will just switch to pioneer. I'm an example of this myself. If everyone was quitting in response wizards would feel pressure to stop.

Magic is a business that sells cards to make money. If you want to play magic without the aspect of money, you can proxy cards, or play with the millions of budget cards that are still powerful and fun.

Got my Mothman precon. Not touching anything else from this set. The only box I'll buy this year besides some precons is the Collector's box of Bloomburrow, just because the cards are way too cute.

I think it would be bad - it proves wizards can gimmick its way into whatever they want when it comes to pricing. They will have bypassed the magic 30th by outwaiting everyone

$35-$50 a PACK is ridiculous 😢. I don’t play mtg but I collect cards. Fallout is my absolute favorite game of all time. I’m an angry lady rn. 😢

funny enough my lcs gave me the hookup. no one wanted it so i snapped it up under 350. not bad the show coming out. elon promoting the show will imo have this shoot up to 600
