(Edit: great to see regular uploads again) Too soft at the start means you need less tokens and higher pressure. Tokens make the sus start soft but ramp faster. No tokens makes it linear. That’s how I understand it

When I upgraded to the charger 3 and new spring I ended up taking out tokens and running the pressure slightly higher. Seemed to make the tuning more effective and definitely improved the mid stroke.

@@leetori1 In his case, a bit of both, he says its not supportive enough at the top but doesnt specify if on the bumpy stuff or in corners. High speed compression would be if he blows through it too much on the chunky stuff and low speed if he blows through it in slow compressions like corners or big hits. Probably rather that I guess. Id add a little bit of both and if it doesnt get better, one less token and a bit higher pressure. I understood it like that as well so you cant be too wrong with it I guess hahaha

You can’t go wrong with Santa Cruz and Maxxis. Bike looks great and trails look sick. Reminds me on Inners but I’m sure it’s even steeper and longer. The very best of luck mate. That new damper is totally different than the old debonair. Generally speaking, I would set you sag and then increase your damping, more high speed and rebound and then mess with volume reducers after you have dialed the damper. The volume reducers really garaged the ride in the new boxxer so just do them at the end.

I ride my rear shock 1 coil sometimes 2 coils stiffer than the site recommends so I can pop off the roots/rocks a little easier

From factory you have zero tokens in the 200mm ultimate, you can go up to 6. I'm not jealous, it's not like if I read the service manual a thousand time and have this fork in all my carts of my favorite shops 😂

IMHO, definitely an error to slap extra tokens in before you've even ridden it. I'd say go back to the stock token config, reset the sag, put both comp adj to the centre position and then start fine tuning.

I'd say leave the fork alone until you get more familiar with the trails. Then increase fork pressure when you start railing harder.

You keep teasing like you are going to get some New, Mind Blowing, Technologicaly Advanced mountain bikes i.e. Structure Cycleworks SCW-1 or how about an UnnovEver or Antidote Dark Matter for Downhill but you just Keep on getting it the same ol' bikes that any schmo at the bike park gets. ☹️
