You guys crack me up. Come on out to the east coast if you really want to see rust. I have had to replace sub frames on cars that where only 3 years old, and have less the 50,000 miles on them in Pittsburgh Pa. Cars that come from PA, Ohio, NY, and NJ are the worst for rusting out quickly.

I sometimes feel weird watching some of these videos, because I live in a 55+ community (in Arizona), and a lot of the car models going into the crusher, are sitting around me in driveways. There are three different examples of the 2000's Mercury Grand Marquis where I live, all shiny and lovingly cared for. Down around the corner from me, is a 2000 Chrysler LHS; gorgeous car, although the paint on the rear bumper is getting a little flat. A quick touchup at a body shop would take care of that. It just goes to show that cars are what the owners make of them. Change the oil, keep them clean, wax them once or twice a year. Of course, it helps that salt/corrosive chemicals are not used on the roads here.

My favourite part was that one exhaust pipe on the limo, still outside the chassis of the crusher, as if it were a death row inmate holding on to a door frame as the guards tried to drag him by the heels to the execution chamber, reminded me of The Green Mile a bit. And the lead sheets. Sounds like bed sheets, just a bit different. Silas, you are crushing it!

All I have to say is I enjoy your videos, my dad had a junk yard on our property in the late 80's early 90's until someone complained and we were forced to get rid of everything... but I used to have fun searching the cars.. We had an El Camino that was full of porcupine quills, we had quite a few oldies.. many parts of different cars.. At one time we had 2 trucks left over.. I used to climb into the yellow truck and pretend it was a space ship... Memories.. Now I'm still the same and love going through junk cars and keep the change I find.. My grandparents had a few cars on their property, my grandfather was a Volkswagen man, he loved fixing them up... and he had other cars.. like a model T frame.. had one car with a bucket seat.. but was also an old limousine from the 60's parked in there.. My dad also had an ambulance from the 1960's, I do know he worked on an ambulance crew as well as the fire department and road crew.. Not sure if that ambulance was the town of Whitingham's old ambulance or not but I just remember hearing of it.. I had a Volkswagen Rabbit, my Dad had it and he was going to fix it up but I pretty much destroyed it with an ax, and sledgehammer.. He didn't care because at that point he didn't want to bother with cars anymore... It sits on our former property still and it's been crushed when my nephew tried towing it out of the woods because he was going to scrap it for money.. but the wheels were frozen and couldn't move

Man you need to make some shirts or schwag for the folks out here watching your adventures. A shirt with a picture of the loader with a scion or any of the toaster cars stabbed through the side and lifted in the air would probably sell well. Or a picture of the crusher with a PT cruiser that says "right where it belongs". I dunno, just a thought.
