Would you believe that i replaced another blower motor in a carrier air conditioning system.? Well I did and it was an X 13 blower once again fortunately, for the homeowner the system was under warranty from the manufacturer so the repair for labor was not covered but the repair for the part was covered under the parts warranty.got the customer up and running quick and simple. Nothing new to see here.

I will never forget this. At a trade show for another trade. In a class with a manufacture one of the guys stands up all cocky and tries to humiliate the rep by asking him when they are going to fix a part that always breaks. We were all making a lot of money off that broken part. Close to 15 years before they changed over to something better. The rep stops the guy mid sentence and says "Do you really want us to fix it?" . That guy put his head down and sat right back in his chair. Not another peep out of him.

Hey man I’m in the business to and when all them x13 started failing I talk to an engineer from allied air and he just suggested to switch it into high static and ever since doing that I have never changed another one

6:49 . . . . what is that debris in the fan housing, a partial wasp nest maybe? and why not clean the squirrel cage while your in there? it had alot of dust buildup on the fins.

Must not be looking at the same wheel, that thing was immaculate!! As far as what was in the housing was a layer of pookie probably from install 9+ years ago 👍you can check some previous blower videos where that’s exactly what I do is clean the housing and wheel, this didn’t need it

must be the lighting shadows, @ 6:35 the cage fins (exhaust side) look like they have heavy dust buildup. All good, great video

It's the moisture from the air conditioning never understood why Air Handlers and package units have the coil in the return and it just fills the entire thing filled with moisture and just destroys the blower motor and heat exchanger

My fan is doing the same thing. But sometimes it spins it’s just so loud. Do these things have a capacitor or is it built-in? should I just change the motor or if it has a capacitor separate should I just change both?

They’re built inside the module. Can test the cap and see if it’s bad if one is present

@@KoolinwithKrauss in your professional opinion, you think it’d be best if I buy the part and do it myself or have it replaced under warranty? I’m telling my mother-in-law I still I have to pay for the labor. But if I do it myself, I would get it done possibly faster. I just don’t know how much money it would save me paying for the part or me paying for the labor. I’m honestly more worried about the timeframe due to it being 90 to 100 down here in South Florida with a baby in the house.

@@rivec33 if you can get your hands on one today then do it, just match the specs very specially to the system. But if it’s under warranty, it would be more cost effective that way. And if it’s under warranty still would “generally” (used loosely) be available same day. Look for most reliable company you trust (small business is best imo) and the labor should cost less then the part itself, and then you still have warranty on the equipment carried over and the company, so long as their reliable and have integrity will honor their labor on that part for minimum a year. But you would need it to be verified what’s failed and that it’s nothing else also a lot of variables that come into play.

My mother in law knows a guy who owns a ac company so he stopped by to verify that it’s the problem and he is going to deal with the warranty thing for me tomorrow. I guess it’s easier that way. It’ll get fixed I just can’t brag to my wife I did it myself though lol. Appreciate all the advice.

I have 2 Carriers both installed at the same time in a new house. At 1.5 years one of the X-13's went. I put a rescue in it and added louvers to the A/C closet doors. The other unit has a Broad Ocean ECM and that one is still going 4 years in.

I’ve heard that from a few others!! I guess turn the fan speed all the way up and lose the ability to enhance dehumidification because it’s just about inevitable at this point!!
