Lets see if I can get the Suzuki DF6A up and running. At the moment it is locked up so can't test anything. The prior owner thinks it has to do with an existing Suzuki problem with the exhaust valves.

Steve if you had the time. You could repair small craft motors we use. I'd trust you after the warranty, more than a dealer. Among building custom push poles, kayak outboard motor mounts, and many other add-ons. You are the true definition of DIY and repair it, or design your own king! Awesome job bro. 💯 🎣 🌊

Wow you can clearly see it was mostly a headgasket problem. You can totally see the oil seepage on the gasket and the terrible housing gasket job. You had a 20% leakdown and ran pretty decent with oil. Horrible rushed job! I'm sure those pit marks by the valves happened from the previous repair which looks like detonation marks due to fuel starvation at high speed. I'm very impressed on your engine repair and diagnostic knowledge! This is coming from a 17 year Master Auto Technician.

Hope you get that motor running! Was a good day on the reefs edge today in 75’ Lots of nice yellowtail and Spanish Mackerel too! Hope to see ya out there! The ballyhoo cam in thick so was easy to Net the bait and they were getting crushed by the mackerel on the surface.. lines screaming in all directions lol love the fall time in the Keys Great video!

The pits in the head could be preignition damage caused by corrosion and hot spots and a to lean run from dirty carb?

do some mild porting of water passages - burr and casting removal and chamfering will increase flow

Makes me mad a shop would do a poor repair, then take customers money, sending them off knowing they will not return. It’s why I do ALL my own repairs a preventive maintenance.
