Nothing better then seeing old grader fire up and run after years of sitting outside neglect gives you a real sense of satisfaction. All Those Years Gone by and it's up and ready to go to work like nothing ever happened. That's some tough old machinery.

So far so good. Steering and circle turn. The steering is number 1 and the circle can come a little later as ;long as it's not pouring. GOOD job! The old heifer'll go directly! Thanks, Pal and GBWYall!

I’m a 30 year old operating engineer and learned and still prefer to this day no frills old equipment. No emissions equipment no computers. I learned how to operate a dozer on a 1974 D8k cat. Love and miss that dozer. Took care of it as if I owned it. Shed a tear when the company sold both of them to a Nigerian diamond mine. Old iron with no distractions and you can feel the fluid moving through the leavers and no electronics to get between me and the machine responding. A/c and heat are nice but unnecessary

Are you planning on selling it or keeping it afterwards? Two tips: 1) when you get it back to your farm take the oil tank from the motor off and gearbox and check for lumps or metal pieces (basically signs of motor wear) 2) be careful when working on / under it incase a Hose goes on it, you don’t wanna get crushed by a moving part. Cool video as always!

Yeah Ben, my in-laws will use it on their property. Their driveway is over 2miles long. They'll maintain that and trails on their hunting property with it👍

I ran a Volvo motor grader for the State. It was a lil bit newer. Computer sensitive if you know what I mean. Great job making her live again! 👍

I got a old galion with the ole Detroit going a couple weeks ago had been setting for 13 years after I checked and made sure the rack wasn't stuck it started right up , but blew several hose to !

Gallions are also a two man operation used to run one it's built for two people to run the controls and some also came with gas powered engines

Hoses and some fluid is not a bad thing to do so you gotta love the IH engine and I want to say its a 400 Series engine so it could be a 407, 414, 436 or 466. Most likely I will say its a 407 or a 414 engine and if you have to change engine oils it takes a 30 weight and 5 gallons worth. You can buy galion manual copies for it for 80-90 $

Probably a Neuss motor. German built . Its whats in my Case IH tractor. Similarities in the motor just smaller. Beast of a motor . Well built.

IH AG/Industrial engines always had the CID stamped on the side of the block about midway. Prefix D or DT (T for turbocharged) then the cid. Looks to be a 414 or 436.

If no one has told you yet, tractor supply sells pre made hydraulic hoses that have NPT ends on them. You just measure yours and buy the length and diameter you need. They’re like $10-25 instead of $100

It looks like you're going to have to replace all the hoses, as soon as you replace the next ones, your weakest link will show itself.

There's a good old trick for the fan belt length put a rope around the Pollys and put a knot in so you know exactly the length Frakin 👌mint👌

you should get hydraulic hoses covering so your new hoses last forever it a little spendy but its worth it
