My dad had this exact grader. He had a paving company and would push snow in winter for extra money. We’d go through this ritual every year since the grader would sit all year till snow. Good to hear that Detroit scream, brought back good memories.

I saw 2 Detroit 6v71 Diesel's in a Boat there cool engine's. My Uncle Dean has a 1988 Boat with 2 Cat 3406 twin turbo's diesel's. I can't wait to see those running.

Old Detroit 2 stroke engines are are bad to get sticking injectors when not run much. Probably be alright with a little TLC ! That things making oil ! Love it 😊 Have a Blessed Day

Brilliant ! That engine fired up easier then expected, at first crank. It sounded like the decompression was on initially. The puff of smoke at the battery terminals is the Hamiltonville Battery Special Event. Thanks for that. Lots of water in that fuel tank.

Hydrotex Essentialube is the best in the West(or anywhere)for unsticking stuck engines, lifters, injectors, etc. No need to disassemble anything, just pour little down the exhaust and let is sit. The stuck cylinder will be the one(s) with the exhaust valve open when it rains.

All you did with the marvel mystery oil was put it in the crank case. Won’t hurt it. But definitely didn’t put it in the cylinders. They have intake covers on the side of the block that you can take off and see the pistons and cylinders. But hey good video anyway! Oh yeah seen Elvis!

Hank/Wiley Y'all just as much fun as Saturday morning cartoons, this is just way better, you two had a plan, and set to work with it dumped old Marvel in that engine and got it fired up with determination i might add, I can hardly wait for part 2, Hank here in Winnipeg where i live we get crazy winters and as a kid we'd get a big snowfall and watch these old graders come down the front street clearing snow like it was no bodies business and loved the sound of that old Detroit wound up pushing that snow off the road, it was some real excitement as a kid and still is for my grand nieces/nephews, thx again keep them coming 👍 😎

Good one! Although looks like all you did with the marvel mystery oil was add it to the crankcase. Wont hurt it however. Could also do without the background music, you two plus the old machinery is interesting enough. Also love the cutaway scenes of the engine specs, should do that more often! Keep em coming!

Another fine video brought to you by Hamilton Farms, Crescent wrenches, Marvel Mystery Oil, ether manufactures and wheezing medications to stop grader from sounding like it is dying from asthma. A little dish washing soap on tip of finger spread on belts will stop the squeaking sound from them. Use 3# hammer with Crescent wrench for those hard to turn bolts and nuts.

best way i have found to unlock an engine, without using massive amounts of torque & risk breaking or bending something...fill your cylinders with mystery oil , or whatever....then use a weed burner torch to heat the block up.....works just like heating up a nut stuck on a bolt......plus the capillary effect will draw the liquid into the spot of seizure....works every time

There is a little switch on the left side of that supercharger that is supposed to be used if it runs away, cuts the air off

If a 2-cycle will spin and get fuel and the blower turns it'll run. Never found one that'd run on water. Looked like Wiley was having hisself a time whizzing that small bus motor. Put a can or something over the kazaust pipe and GBWYall!

Screaming Jimmy when I first started driving trucks years ago, this old boy told me the first thing you do to get in the proper mood to drive a truck with a Detroit diesel. Is slam the truck door on your hand and you are good to go.

Are you going to do another visit to see if you can get her moving and leavers working. Would like to have the road grader on the farm I work on as some of the roads are really bad. its a two stroke diesel, needs blower to run, not for extra power [you can get them with turbos for power upgrade]

That motor had all kinds of issues but you both kept at it and got it going. Needs a lot yet but as a plus you got the motor running. You both kept at it and you got it. I saw an extension to a socket from a torque gun - it was 48" if a millimeter. It reached from the front of a bulldozer to the rear attachment bolts to the Tranny ! Big one !

The alternator is not spinning, cut the belts, it's locked solid, hence the squealing!

That things making oil now,it's never a good thing when you drain water out of the fuel tank,even worse when you drop the drain plug off the oil pan and alot of water comes out and when the water stops very little oil comes after,no bueno
