That pretty much goes for any material that burns, it’s off gassing. Smoke is just unburned fuel/off gas. Learned this many many years ago when starting my fire service classes. Little over 20 years ago, wow time flys huh 😂.

That's one memorable lesson lol. Another way to demonstrate that it's actually the smoke that's burning is with a candle. Let it burn for a few minutes and then blow it out. Hold your match a few inches above it in the stream of smoke that's coming off the wick. The smoke with light on fire and travel back down to the wick, relighting it. Kind of a fun trick but it shows that it's actually the smoke that's burning. Well actually it's vaporized wax in this case, but same idea. The wax itself or the wick itself doesn't actually burn. It just turns things into a vapor and that's what burns.

This is actually one of the tests someone did to actually figure out combustion theory! Except instead they had originally put a lump of coal under a fire, and the gas lit on fire, which is actually what originally started the Town-gas industry where you have gas delivered to your home by pipes, it originally wasn't propane or natural gas, but coal gas!

I haven't needed it for a while now, but I used to go to the hospital for Imitrex when I got a migraine. Supposedly you can get it in tablet with a 'script now. I can feel them coming on when I get veins pulsing in my eyes....I know I have to get off the computer, shut off the tv, turn the lights out, and go all "zen" in a quiet place. I can usually catch them before they take hold with a couple of tylenol.

@@muskokamike127 -I really appreciate it and I’ll check into it. The only thing that works for me to cut the tension cord is a Percocet and sleep and then hope for the best. (And I hate narcotics - makes me nauseous, constipated, and I don’t like the dizzy effect. But I will take ‘em if I have no option.) again, thanks.

@@jackmundo4043 it sounds silly but little things like breathing/meditating or even physical exercises and diet can go a long way for mental health

they worked for some people i've known that had issues, it gets your mind off the negative and allows your body to clean itself, at least that's what the doctors said.

Same as Demoral, Oxy etc. The thing about migraines is: there's no real one cure for everyone. Everyone is different just like migraines. Sometimes mine start at the back, sometimes above my right ear, and sometimes behind and above my right eye. Always on the right though. They have greatly diminished since I left the high stress corporate job(s) though. One thing that bugs me about people talking about migraines: most aren't having a migraine, it's just a bad headache. If it was a migraine you wouldn't be out driving around on a sunny day, watching tv or playing a freaking video game. I had a buddy who would call in sick to work "due to migraines" and he'd be online playing a video game or watching tv. Dude a migraine feels like someone is driving a 12" spike through your head, you WON'T be outside, playing a video game or watching tv if you were having a migraine. I once shot a framing nail through my hand...it didn't hurt as much as a migraine.

I used to have migranes, I found out that my bunsen burner had a leak. The propane gave me a headache.

When the head is off you can just look at the piston and valve.

It is also parts of the acorn skin. Over time, with constant boiling, the starch part would dissolve and be lost.

I used a product probably 20-25 years ago to “seal a leaking radiator” that was a liquid with gelatinous balls in it that were supposed to melt as the engine came up to temp. Whatever was in the little balls was supposed to flow throughout the cooling system and seal any holes. Can’t recall if it worked but I’m highly inclined to believe those balls are from a product like I used rather than acorns. I’ve seen a lot of old, oily acorns but have yet to see some that pliable.

You are correct. Many people used this in Europe during WW2 and put the gasifier in the trunk as gas was more or less unavailable.

Der Fuher was experimenting with coal gasification on a large scale because Germany didn’t have much availability to petroleum on its own territory. That’s one of the reasons he wanted to go east into Russia. 🥸🧵✅
