As a mother of a retired Army Airborne Ranger, 75th Regiment, 2nd Battalion, I share Pat Tillman’s mother’s shock and utter disbelief that Harry Windsor would receive this award. I remember crying with immense pride as my son recited the Ranger oath for the first time at his Ranger induction. Three months later he was on his way to Afghanistan. In fact he did 4 tours of Afghanistan and 3 tours of Iraq. Rangers are the best of the best. They take an oath to be loyal to the Constitution, the US, and to their team. They ar expected to exhibit the highest of character; integrity, honor, loyalty, selflessness, and never leave any man behind. Pat Tillman exhibited all of those things. He selflessly chose to turn down a multi-million dollar contract to play football, so he could serve his country. He was everything Harry is not. That is why the fact that ESPN/Disney chose a very dishonorable man to receive this award is a slap in the face to every mother, father, wife, siblings, sons and daughters, whose loved ones EARNED a Ranger tab is angry. Harry’s name should not be used in the same sentence as Pat Tillman. The fact that this treacherous man is receiving this award is a gross insult. My empathy goes to Mary Tillman. Pat will always be remembered as a great American hero. ESPN/Disney are recognized for the ‘Woke’ frauds they are and Harry has lost the plot, if he ever had it.

I am an army brat. My dad served in the army in the United States. So I'm very familiar with this award. I can't tell you how disrespectful and hurtful it is for Harry to receive this award. Especially since based on his own words, his service in the military was not what average servicemen and women had to go through. There are plenty of people who deserve this award more than him. I remember we were stationed in Virginia and we had one of the army dads he worked with my dad (JAG Core). He always took time out of their busy day training and work to always coach in volunteer youth soccer for military kids and for civilian kids. He would do this for free. He would buy all the equipment and the jerseys to make everyone feel like a team and he was not getting paid anything.

My dad was a career soldier, he served every day of his adult life in the military until he died at age 39. Harry getting this award makes me sick. He's done nothing to deserve any award, let alone one like this, he wasn't fit to shine Pat Tillmans shoes. Shame on you Harry, your mother would be ashamed of you.

Hey Pluto, NYC/USA here. As a U.S. Navy Corpsman Medic, I too served alongside the U.S. Marines. I received my basic US "Marine" Corp. training at Camp LeJeune. I too am appalled Harry is being recognized for his "joke" of a military service. There are photos online showing Harry's security detail looking rough and dirty while Harry's face, uniform, and military boots are pristine clean. Fact. His base was attacked while he "slept" through the attack in his private bunker that was set up to allow him to play video games. I don't believe Harry's lie that he killed "25" Taliban. How can you engage in warfare while having armed security surrounding you preventing the enemy from attacking you? Harry and Meghan both have to be called out by a reporter who will extract the truth out of them. Lastly, at the Pat Tillman award show, protestors should get up, turn their backs, walk out, and not return. That will send a message to Harry and Meghan, and their Sussex squad of supporters. i.e. Serena Williams.

Not popular to bring up but Andrew did take part in the Falklands Island war, He really earned his wings he really flew decoy missions, he really flew evac from the ships that were hit ferrying casualties to the Uganda. His time in the navy lasted 22 years and he really commanded a mine sweeper ship. Andrew should have stayed in longer, unfortunately when he left he was not bright enough to stay away from unsavoury people in the business world. Thank you so much for giving the military perspective. It needs saying. My late husband was a British Army officer and he would have shared your opinion. Harry couldn’t pass the exams to get into Sandhurst (our equivalent of West Point) and his course work was derisory. He had to leave the army after 10 years because he wasn’t any way bright enough to pass the captain to major exam and it wasn’t a good look for a member of the royal family to soldier on as an ageing captain. One of H’s commanding officers was heard to say that he would rather serve a tour in hell than command H again! Says it all, really. My husband served for 20 years, and I scrubbed out married quarters at home and abroad for a large part of his service! No regrets but great gratitude that, unlike Pat Tillman (RIP) my husband survived his service and went on to have a fulfilling life post service. The thought of H picking up this award, especially after his disrespect for King and country, annoys me intensely.

Every single fact even as told in his autobiography shows that Harry did not serve the army, the army served Harry. The same with Invictus. It’s Harry and now Meghan using Invictus not the other way around. Invictus would have benefited so much more had it stayed under the Royal foundation umbrella - where it first started. We would actually read and know about the Invictus heros rather than what Meghan wore and how many times she pulled down her shirt and showed her legs.
