Cronin should've drafted Bronny at 52 and then called up the Lakers like, "I got your baby boy, LeBron! Give me my picks and nobody gets hurt!"

@@rileymcphee9429 According to the rumours, his agent called and threatened every GM in the league. As you see nobody wants to mess around with him. He is very powerful.

@@itai4242 I think Portland was in a position to call their bluff 😅 Lakers would still very much be interested in getting him with the 52nd pick and could've drafted someone way more competent with the 55th.

@@rileymcphee9429 Lakers can't do nothing, but i don't think they would made the trade (they took a big risk in 17th pick in a weak draft, so i don't think they were ready to give up unprotected pick in the future (even if Lebron leaved), and even if they were ready to pay a lot of unprotected draft picks, Rich Paul can make any team to regret it in the future. So i don't think it's worth it, and if the rumours are true definitely any GM in the league agreed to this.

Nah, it’s Tankathon 3.0 this year (because it’s a strong draft class next year and the Blazers aren’t willing to convey their pick to the Bulls yet). Grant will likely be moved, hopefully for two firsts and salary filler. Ayton will probably stay because there isn’t much interest in his max contract and he’s also young enough to stay with the new core if he keeps improving. Other than that, the team stands pat, and will be sure to lose just enough games to keep their lottery pick.

I don’t think Jerami’s value is two first round picks. We gave up one protected first for him. I don’t think his play or contract point towards him being worth more than when we initially acquired him. There just isn’t a lot of teams that want to give up picks for him.

Jerami Grant contract is a bad contract and he is not worth 2 first round picks. The Lakers just made it to the Western Conference finals with this same team. Had the Lakers not match up with Denver in the first round last playoffs they would of made a keep playoff run. If Joe Cronin and Rob Pelinka cannot compromise in the middle then I believe the Lakers will pivot to their next target.

What about Lakers receive: Jerami Grant, Jevon Carter and the bulls 2029 second round pick Blazers receive: Lonzo Ball, Nikola Vucevic, their own first round pick back from the bulls, the bulls 2028 first round pick, the lakers 2029 First round pick Bulls receive: D’Angelo Russell Rui Hachimura and Robert Williams III

@@KOrnhOliO1 1. Blazers finally commit to young core and give them minutes. To many players on the roster. Trade away a few for assets that bloom in 4 years. 2. Ball and Vucevic are both valuable trade assets. Ball has a expiring contract. Vucevic is an established center. 3. This trade nets the Blazers future picks and flipping Ball and Vucevic nets them additional picks. 4. The young core development should be finished in 2/3 years time find out what players to keep and what ones to move on from. 5. in about 3 years have a slew of bonus first round picks to pad the roster or trade capital

I just don’t see any obvious trades for either where PDX gets a fair return. Maybe something at the deadline, but right now the market for both is limited. Not because they aren’t good, but more about fit/need. Agree both need flipped, but has to be for reasonable return.

@@DocSkirv I would take a first and 2 seconds for Grant from LA. I don’t think we’re gonna get 2 firsts for him. And there’s a few teams that could really use Ants scoring and I’m confident we could 2 firsts minimum for him

Ant fit the timeline, but there are 2 reasons i think he should be traded (just for agood price of course) 1. Money. His contract will end in 2026. He will ask for much more money and i'm not sure he is worth that and there are other players, that will need to resign. Anyway he will be free agent and can go to any team for free. B. He is on the spot on Scoot and Sharpe. The can't play together in the long run, and i think they worth a shot as starters, and i can't see Ant as the sixth man.

If the Lakers aren't willing to give us 2 firsts, we better get back something just as sweet like 1 first and their two '25 seconds or a bunch of pick swaps.
