Gabriel and what he is coming into Oregon…can’t hold a candle to Bo Nix last year. The question becomes…has he played at his ceiling or can he step it up significantly? I don’t think anyone has that answer yet. That will be the story of the 2024 season!

No more tanking… this team already has losing mentality.. that could take years to correct.. they need to try and compete to win.. it will be tough to get into the play in but if all broke well, they could maybe get close.. losing a ton of games does not guarantee a top 2 pick… just look at the last couple draft lotteries… Enough!

So many unknowns. New coaches, new players, new teams to play, new conference setup... Bray is known as a humble guy. I have a feeling he, with Gundersons offense, will surprise everyone. I don't know what that will mean 9-3? 10-2?

Agreed. They don't know. Flagg is worth tanking for, even if its not a buck that we get him. Trade Grant, Ant and Aydon for as many picks we can get, and load up in next years draft. My goal would be to secure 3 lottery picks in next year's pick. The draft is loaded with building blocks we can use, but Flagg is the hopes. I'm a fan, and I can say that I'd have fun watching the blazers tank. I wouldn't fret. I'd still go to the games. I'd understand the BIGGER picture. But to say let the chips fall where they may is fair, but manufacturing one of the leagues worst 3 records is all were asking. And possbily buying the other 2 if possible. lol TANK FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE, or stall the rebuild that won't amount to anything in the end. Flagg makes this team a Championship contender. GLAD TO SEE SOME ARE AWAKE TO THE TRUTH.

How is there no urgency to trade Grant? If he stays and they play him, he is taking minutes from the players we need to develop and we run the risk of injury . If he stays and we don't play him, the risk is acquiring or perpetuating the "when healthy" label further reducing his trade value. Not to mention his cap impact is significant. As a fan of the team, I hate watching tanking. I can stand by a team that is putting in the work to develop young players and as a result loses a lot of games. But playing someone as talented and out of synch age wise with the core as Grant to still win under 20 games is NOT development, it is wasted development time. It is also wasting the prime years of Grant's career. Besides if we are trading for a 2029 first round pick with a team whose best players are all over 30 in 2024 and has very limited cap flexibility sounds like a pretty solid pick to own.

@@cnelsonlv99 No one player, not even Cooper Flag, will be able to completely change a disfunctional team if forced to play with the same underperformers the following season. I'm all in on building team chemistry by playing fundamentally sound ball with team effort on defense and passing on offense. If the team ends up losing this way, that would be fine, as taking a high draft pick by season's end might actually improve team play the year after.

Respect your ideas, I listen to the show a lot, despite being in China and timezone difference. I do not agree about the culture argument. I think the vets did help with the culture, but perhaps not in a direct way, more of a quiet, how to handle the loss and what to do with it. That does go a long way, we just don't see it directly.. The vets can also give pointers to improve the kids games, if the youngsters take the advice or use it is another thing. Also tanking and being worst does not guarantee the number one pick. I think if they could get 30 wins this year that would be good. Still a good chance to get a good pick, but also a moral booster

The Fail Blazers will never change. They keep making the same mistakes over and over again. They overvalue mediocre talent and their own players (same thing). They then hang onto to them too long. They overpay them (typically for past performance or to keep them in Portland) or they let them walk for NOTHING. Alternatively they give them away in stupid trades. It’s called digging a hole. Every move they make reenforces the problem. They can’t help themselves. They’re inept. The NBA has WINNERS and LOSERS. The Blazers are LOSERS. Until the team is sold and the entire executive and management teams are replaced NOTHING WILL CHANGE. The reality is Portland cannot attract free agents or make competent trades. Their only chance at landing potential star players are to draft them. Trading away the 14th pick this year was another bonehead move. No young players on the team other than Scoot, Sharpe and Camara are worth more than that pick. Deni A. has been a journeyman player on a bad team. Yes he still has upside but not more than whoever they could’ve drafted at fourteen (Ware for example). They gave away Brogdan on that deal. Watch Washington flip him for a FRP. That trade could’ve been made for less. Then they just sold their second round picks to resign long time 2 way guys. Holding onto bench scrubs that haven’t produced is the Blazers cardinal sin. Cronin will eventually piss away every asset received for Lillard. Hey Cronin … when you’re in a hole … STOP DIGGING.

If you are actually reminiscing about a century ago just to present your case against the NBA's faul intentions toward the Blazers organization, first consider that Portland was actually the last team to obtain "the previous great white hope." Honest management is better than tanking-Trade Ant, Williams, Grant and to a lesser extent- Thybulle and Ayton so the team doesn’t need to tank to be bad and the young timeline can play and get good eventually. The team improvement over the next couple of seasons will be fun to watch without the fake injuries and benchings of the aforementioned players.

9:50 here..i'll help you out. the part that actually bothers you is you don't think bronny has nba talent. so when you hear anything positive about him it sets you off. And I can help you again. He actually does have NBA talent. if you don't think he does then you don't know basketball. no one is saying he had a good game. if there's positive coverage it's to say he belongs on the court, it's to say he doesn't look lost on the court, it's to say he is physically capable, etc... it isn't to say he balled out. and you know that. so yes. you're the issue because you don't think he has talent. understandable if you don't watch him play.

5:00 I actually agree with the tim tebow comparison not making much sense outside of them both being super popular. but tebow should give you a little more insight on how drafts work. tim tebow with his college production should've been easily 1st overall, should've been hands down the #1 pick, and they should've been talking about him like he would've been the best prospect of all time. you know why that didn't happen? because teams don't draft off of college production, nor high school production. understanding why tebow wasn't drafted first should give you an understanding of why bronny was draftable, or if you are too butt hurt to see his talent then maybe try AJ Johnson who got drafted to the bucks.
@thetrib1
@thetrib1 2 күн бұрын
4:45 watch the game. stop complaining about something you don't understand. bronny was the best perimeter defender on the court that game. he did touch earth or almost touched earth on one possession. but he was undobtedly good on defense. he got open looks, and missed. the IQ is obviously there on both sides. it's hard to see it if... you aren't watching. if you are mad that lebron's son is getting media attention...then good luck lol. if you are mad that people think positively of bronny...then again...good luck. you don't have to like him, and they don't have to lie for you to feel comfortable.

Having Grant and Deni as the two wing starters makes the Blazers a solid team in my opinion. Thier games will not only complement each other but also help space the floor for Scoot and having another solid ball handler in Deni will help Ant during double teams. I hope we see what the team at full strength can do before any significant trades are done.

Portland hasn't made a deal with the Lakers since 1980 when they sent forward Jim Brewer for a draft pick that was used to pick Jerome Kersey. I could be wrong, but I don't see that changing with Jerami Grant. For sure the Blazers should think about moving some combination of Grant, Williams, Simons or Thybulle at some point in the next year, but they don't need to imminently. The Blazers need to thinlk more deeply about their coaching situation first.
