Caustic sinks also need system capacitor it seems. Several times I've been unable to fire them and have no clue why, and gone back to a station to repair. Very recently I noticed just as I was about to touchdown that the system capacitor was empty as I had no pips. riiiiight, I thought. That makes more sense than some invisible 'repair needed' despite being 90+% on everything.

Hoping the type 8 can get up to speeds of 630-650 stripped down, this would make it a great support 'hot orbiting (keeping the agro off the DPS/ with the ability to evade Thargoid attacks' (Elite pilots only)) ships like the viper mk3 and sidewinder

The funny thing is - those are the absolute most damaging weapons (with their AX ammo synth) to the thermal core that exist, in any format. They best (engineered for rapid fire / oversized) even large Sirius AXMRs. If only they didn’t have that absolutely punishing synth requirement, they would be amazing.

Oh I will. The question is - how painful is it going to be. Ship speed will provide the answer, combined with available utilities.

Type 8 is ok for sampling and Titan farming. Stops here probably, Thargoid wise.

If it has anything like the thermals of the Type7 (which are the worst in the game), even that would be questionable. We shall see!

Mod shard insta builds benefit from heat sinks due to the recharge abality and oc heat management. I almost always do shield builds, and usually use normal or prismatic shield, so no problem with sys capacitor.
