The reason why he says he's not at liberty to talk about it is because the IP belongs to Sony and he is not part of Sony. So whatever they decide to do with it, he has neither influence in nor knowledge of. He's not withholding information or speaking double speak, he just says it's not his place to talk about it because...well, it just isn't. I want Bloodborne on PC as much as any other fan but this is just pure speculation over absolutely nothing.

I think the lack of anything with Bloodborne has more to do with the fact that FROMSOFTWARE's co-developer on Bloodborne, SIE Japan Studio, was shutdown years ago, the rumor that Sony lost the source code and doesn't know how to reverse-engineer it, or both.

Hopefully there is something being worked behind the scenes and there's some NDAs going on.

I think you're overanalyzing. Miyazaki is not the owner of Bloodborne so he cannot say something is in the works or that something is not in the works, as both sentences tell players somethig, which Sony might have problems with (if they decide otherwise). Him saying he'd get into trouble for saying something doesn't have to mean Bloodborne 2/remake is in the works, it's just that Sony didn't confirm any decision on the topic and they want to keep it that way.

I disagree with your interpretation of the first interview response. It sounds to me like he's saying just what he is saying: FromSoftware does not own the Bloodborne IP, and whether it gets remastered or remade is not up to them. Furthermore, FromSoftware would not have anything to do with it. Sony would hire another company like BluePoint to do it. Asking FromSoftware about a Bloodborne remake is akin to asking BluePoint about a Sekiro sequel; it's not up to them and they wouldn't have anything to do with it if it happens.

Miyazaki is a true visionary and genius, and in my opinion the most creative designer working today. So naturally someone like him would not waste his time with remasters. But if someone were to ask me what IP i would want From Software and more importantly Miyazaki to revist, it would definitely be Bloodborne.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on being happy to play a Bluepoint remake. Demon's Souls gets a pass because it's the oldest one, stuck on the PS3 with not many people having played it. But remaking Bloodborne feels like rewriting the sacred texts. It's already perfect, just give it 60fps, better antialiasing, upscale some textures and it's good for another 10-15 years.

All we need is a solid HD PC version at 60fps. Then it can live forever.

Totally agree. I'd be so disappointed if BB2 were to be made by another developer. The only other one that might do it justice is Neowiz/Round8 Studio. With how well they pulled off Lies of P, given more resources I could see them doing a good BB sequel. But I doubt that'd happen since they're a South Korean developer and Sony would most likely give it to another Japanese studio, or their own subsidiary Bluepoint Games.

I'm actually not worried, i've been avoiding the dlc content like the plague. I started a new character but due to lack of playing time I'm not sure if I'll be able to reach Mohg and enter the DLC. As a backup I also have a level 162 character from a previous playthrough ready to go

What I heard is I'm going to have to hang onto my Bloodborne box (PS4) til the day I die. Though really, I think that fans have cracked and ported significant chunks of the game already and that a fan port is in the works somewhere. I'd expect Bloodborne on PC from fans before I'd ever expect it from Sony.

I find it strange that it hasn't gotten a PS5 patch, so much so that I suspect it will be released as a remake or remaster for a future console. Sony usually don't bother with ports unless they have a sequel in that franchise on its way to consoles (or HBO), so I don't expect DeS or Bloodborne on PC anytime soon sadly, but the strict no patch policy is suspicious

I would be interested in a non-From Bloodborne. The game has inspired a huge amount of people since it came out, and I’d be interested to see what some of those people would do with a sequel.

If Bluepoint does do another remake, whoever is in charge of the artistic aspects really needs to better respect the source material this time. The artistic design of Bloodborne is such a high point this time, so much so it'll be a disgrace to the game to ignore that fact.

Tbh assuming there is something bloodborne related happening I'd assume it would be a console exclusive sequel. These mega corps want to maximize profit by selling lots of expensive hardware and lock people in to their console so your more likely to pay them even more for other stuff.

I, personally, just want a Bloodborne pc port and 60fps upgrade for PS5. The former can allow PC users to play Bloodborne for the first time, as well as preserve the title forever on PC, while the 60 fps upgrade for PS5 can make sure that PlayStation users have an experience comparable to those on PC (assuming the PC port ran at a higher framerate). I don't think this is too much to ask for and I don't think a remaster/remake is necessary. I'd welcome the quality of life improvements that could come with a remaster/remake, however I'd be worried of any changes to the atmosphere, lighting, and art direction in favor of increasing the game's graphical fidelity. The visuals of bloodborne are very important to my enjoyment of the game and it has been a consistent pattern so far that remasters/remakes of souls games have changed the visuals (in whole or in part) in ways that were unnecessary and diluted the atmosphere overall. While a remaster/remake could offer a lot to improve or expand upon the original game, I'd rather just get the game as is on PC but with an unlocked framerate. That way, any possibility of a remake later on can come without the cost of overriding any attempt to preserve the original.
