Heating up the frame rails before pulling them might have prevented them from cracking, and saved a lot of extra repair work.

It's wild how much the frame rail moved when you had tension on it and were whacking it with the hammer for stress relief. I "knew" you had to do it but never saw it in action like that. Great shot ben!

The Velcro frame machine really proved it’s worth on this job. The frame looks super good, especially with the bracing that you added. It would make a world of difference if you can source a set of OEM wheels for it

Always love your content Ben. You’re a knowledgeable body and frame guy. To be honest I can’t see how splicing in a set of new junkyard frame rails wouldn’t have been the right solution. No doubt the welded plates look nice and are strong but I doubt a future buyer would want to discover a repair like that later on.

Also, you should consider not referring to the inexpensive tools you have used to repair things as cheap Chinese tools. Not trying to start a comment section fight. I didn’t even think that little machine was going to do it. That’s impressive. I think I would buy it to fix my dodge ram too. It’s just been sitting and haven’t had the time to bring it to a good frame shop here because they’re all busy.
