Will This Completely Change My AE86?

I am sick and tired of trying to drift an old commuter car from the 80s. It's time to make this thing feel like a proper sports car, and that's exactly what I achieved in this video. This car handles like its on rails, and somehow feels smoother at the same time! The car should be much more predictable and controllable while in drift now. I think it will be faster and easier to control! The first drift event of the year is just a few days away and I cannot wait to take my completely transformed ae86 out on the track for the first time. Thanks for watching guys!

This is sick as hell, I'm currently saving up money for parts, but especially to buy the GTS hatchback next year when I go to Japan to study abroad. Looking to buy one to either restore or good condition, and I just fix up the rest from there. Cannot wait to see how your performs in the next video!

I'm glad you went this route for the corolla instead of buying bc , or all these after market off the shelf suspension. later down the line you can upgrade your shocks with trd stuff. also either cut or take off the bump stop bushing at the rear spring and there's another one on top of the rear end housing.

I want a different route by swapping 75% of the AE86 stuff to Altezza🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵

Im glad too, was definitely more fun getting to do some fabricating, and I feel like I learned a lot about the car. Good call on the bump stops, I cut the rear ones in half but left a little bit there. think I should completely remove them?

not sure if this is your fender and front fitment issue but I have an ae92 corolla, the corolla that came out after the rwd platform and had a similar problem, in my case it was because I had to make sure to adjust each side for differences in weight so I had to lift it, adjust it, drop it, measure, lift and adjust for measurement and differences. idk if that's the exactly right way to do it but it helped make my camber and ride height more even.

did you ever get the thing with the fitment on one side being different figured out? my car has the same issue, also have had my fenders redone but same side sits in way further and more camber and i can’t figure it out

I’m just getting started on my journey trying to drift a stock GTS hatchback. Sounds like I have a long road ahead. 😂 does your 86 have power steering?

I've been told that once you get the hang of these cars, it's a lot easier to hop into a different car! Good luck with the journey! Mine was factory power steering but I deleted the pump and just looped the lines. Thanks for watching!

@@LooseFab mine still has the power steering pump factory but I haven’t messed with it. The steering wheel fights against me in the corners the way it currently is setup. It’s a helluva workout.

@@theJoshClark I have that problem too! I honestly feel zero difference with and without PS. Maybe it wasn't working lol. I added a bunch of caster with this new setup so hopefully that helps!
