Thank you for speaking about this issue. It's definitely draining more battery and making some phones so hot it almost burns. Laggy gameplay, too. My phone is pretty old, but it's functional enough I don't want to buy another one just yet (from one reddit thread I realized even buying the newest model doesn't guarantee the experience will be smooth, it's just Niantic and their atrocious- most people don't have gaming phones to combat this), but I already see it will be impossible to play if the temperature goes past 25 degrees celsius.

I'm only having battery and super lag issues, but my friends phone is always really hot now. She bought a phone chiller that seems to help. Doesn't make us want to play like we used to.

psa bagon is in the field research “make 2 excellent throws”, and a potential reward from “catch a dragon type” (and a wild spawn for those in the northern hemisphere), and deino also spawns this season (not sure if season specific, but we definitely get it), and it is indeed a gbl encounter, but only if you’re veteran rank or higher pretty sure you can trade poipole, not testing with mine as its 15 15 14

I spent 3 hours finding the 20 dragon types. About 15 of them were Dratini so the spawns aren't impossible to find rare

So I've known about the catch circle trick for raids since I looked it up for the legendary bird raids back in 2016.... BUT I did not realize all this time that the circle stays the same size for each throw after you set it. I've just been resetting the circle size each and everytime... brb gonna go scream into a pillow lol

I've had a problem with lag recently which made catchingalmost impossible. I found that if you turn off the native refresh it fixes most the issues and makes the game playable again

I'm level 40 and I duoed the Blisephalon (no idea if the spelling is even close, the one we have instead of stakataka) with a level 50 player. And the raid achievement screen actually said I did more damage. So it's definitely doable with 2. (And I don't have any level 50 mon, purposely because I'm saving for the level quests, but I barely have any over level 40)

I had the issue where I would throw a ball and it would either not throw and get stuck on my pointer, or would launch it to the mountains on the next screen behind it.

You can go into settings then advanced settings then turn off enhanced graphics; that’ll help lag and battery as well

Hahah well hope it helped your game feel less laggy. Always fun to finish research later and have no clue what you get out of it unless you search it up before hand. But that takes away the fun. 😆 Glad you feel better too!

One good thing about living in the UK. I live in the Western hemisphere and 15 miles from the Eastern hemisphere. 😅

I'm having a ridiculous amount of trouble with my iPhoneSE 2nd gen since the backgrounds and avatar changes rolled out - app is laggy, and crashes a LOT (including while in a raid lobby earlier this evening, but fortunately I got back in in time), and also refuses to stay open in the background. I know it's an older phone now, but it was Just Fine until the new graphics were released. I did a couple of Staka raids tonight with three of us comfortably taking it down in about half the time. All level 40+ and best friends, two remote. I reckon two of us could have done it pretty happily, especially if we could have partied up as well. Something for people to keep in mind, if those things apply to their raid crews.

i dont know about anyone else, but pokemon go on my phone and my mothers phone keeps crashing. Sometimes its due to over heating but since we turned off native refresh they dont overheat as much. Just feel like its got a bad memory leak.

Niantic, Please no more weekend events on 2.00p.m. to 5.00p.m. based on local time. Community Day, Raid Day, Research Day, Incense Day Weekend events 3 hours window should consider weather conditions. Near equatorial countries 2.00pm to 5.00p.m. were mostly extremely hot weather until causing sunburn So near equatorial countries weekend events 5.00p.m to 8.00p.m. were more favourable. Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, few examples were experienced that weather when come to this time..

The game right now isn't playing well with Samsung phones, at least not for the past few updates...some people are saying something with the native refresh rate toggle, others say something about a AR setting.

I have Samsung. I've tried - download game assets, refresh game data, enhanced graphics on/off, native refresh rate on/off, AR off (always), make sure nothing else is running on phone, powered phone off/on - nothing really matters. Super laggy, eventually freezes and must reload. Phone hot most of the time.

The game has been running so poorly I wont be buying the gofest ticket. I will play as much as i can tolerate with all the bugs. I am at level 50 the only research i have stacked is level 50 research, season research, and the masterball. I had about 80 stardust boosted pokemon saved for 2x spotlight. I went through and got them all caught last tuesday and now my game is smoother.

Bummer. I was looking for an actual "trick". I may have 8 special research I'm still working on. Don't think it matters. Game runs aweful since graphics updates. Tried all different settings I can. Often, the ball just staggers across the screen when thrown, and game eats the battery. Still playing, but enjoy playing console games that work better.

Always triggers me when you KZfaqrs moan about lag in the game yet have 50 unclaimed research stacks.. Like, just catch them..? The game's been out like 8 years, what's the point of just holding onto them?
