Wealth Gap Explained: Will we all be poorer? - Seven unconnected people striving for a better life across the US and UK discover the odds may be stacked against them. Filmmaker Katharine Round provokes intimate moments to build a mosaic of lives in the grip of fear and insecurity - driven by an ever widening gap between richest and poorest.
Will we all be poorer? (2015)
Director: Katharine Round
Stars: Noam Chomsky, Max Hastings, Cathy O'Neil
Genre: Documentary
Country: United Kingdom, United States
Language: English
Also Known As: Security, Insecurity and the Future of the West
Release Date: November 2015 (Ireland)
Reviews:
"Ultimately, The Divide is enraging for all the right reasons. It could be criticised for wandering a little astray at times, but this is simply a result of Round sticking to her guns and telling human stories, not statistical ones. That is not to say the film is devoid of context, but rather that it is pleasingly unfettered by its own agenda. Certainly, it will appeal more to those of a particular political persuasion, but I’m sure those on the other side of the debate would enjoy picking it apa rt almost as much as the rest of us would enjoy agreeing with and learning from it. It might even go so far as to touch a nerve with those too hardened to be convinced by statistics. 5/5"

I watched this documentary a few times over the years. It never gets old and the situation is only getting worse. I am in the UK and it is becoming miserable rather quickly. Especially, since a multi millionaire Prime Minister is threatening the disabled of all of the worse off in society. So awful, so awful!

In Capitalism it's Not necessary to obtain wealth by Earning It (that is to produce the product or provide the service). You can hire staff to produce the product or provide the service (earn it). All that is necessary to obtain wealth is equity ownership of the company to become wealthy. Earning Doesn't produce wealth. Ownership produces wealth under Capitalism. End of Lesson.

Under Capitalism to obtain wealth it's Not necessary to produce a product or provide a service to Earn It. You can hire a Workforce to produce a product or to provide a service. On this manner the Workforce's Labor Earns It. You can achieve wealth merely by OWNING the company, Not Earning anything. Ownership is the Key 🗝️🗝️, Not Earning, which requires Effort (or work). The path to wealth under Capitalism is therefore Equity Ownership. End of Lesson.

I can remember when people were loosing there jobs to automation. Our politicians said dont worry the extra proffits would fill the pensions account . People will be able to retire earlier. Making way for the young to get jobs. What happened????. No pension. Raised pension age. Joblessness amongst the young. . What a con.

It's not rocket science, increased inequality=A less productive population, decreased birth rates, increased relative poverty and thus increased strain on social services due to negative externalities. Economics and business in general is basically common sense in my opinion. The inequality bubble will collapse or reach an equilibrium at some point, you can only exploit capital to a certain extent.

The problem is usury and the concept of credit. Stop wanting what you can't afford.
@KJJ782
@KJJ782 24 күн бұрын
Exactly. People in society listen to media and crazy 🤪 politicians, who put this delusional concept of people with very low income to buy a home, and they end up not being able to afford the home 🏠. Simple, if you can’t afford it don’t buy it on credit. Buy a used car from saved income. The sales people in America for cars and homes are millionaires making sales pitches to people who can’t afford them, they still get the commission, but I think 🤔 need more of a comprehensive budget analysis 🧐 to see if they can afford a home or car. What are they spending their money on, do they have savings, how many credit cards do they have ? Do they owe back taxes?
