This guy acually does more realistic reflextions then Bob Ross did. He scares me though at the clouds in almost every painting he does. Sounds like he beating the canvas to death. I do like the way Bob does his water line better though. Thanks for posting videos. Im learning a lot from all artist's knowledge

Bob was painting like machine, which I like because of the sounds he made. This guy has more feeling for tone and contrast.

Talk about using the "KISS" method for painting. What a master to figure out how to do it this simply. I used to paint with 3 hairs and take months! He is such a happy guy doing what he was made for!

Alexander Art sells their own paints, brushes and other supplies. These shows aired on PBS in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Alexander may not have had his line of paints yet at this time, but later began selling his own supplies.

Where do you get episodes titles from? None seem to match any on episode list available in several places. Do you have an alternate episode list?
@ToddMarkelАй бұрын
I got my titles from the slates on the shows and the accompany art books. These are the episodes shot at KOCE-TV in Huntington Beach in the early 80s

I love Bill, however, he made a technical error when he re-created this painting. The lake tilts down to the right instead of lying flat. They showed the correct version at the beginning and end of the program.

Bob clearly ripped from this guy. Even his lines like.” No matter how many times o do this, it still excites me” Bob has said that many times. Or "”mighty mountain “ thats totaly bill as well. I like Bob alot. But the evidence is profound. He bit off this mans show word for word. It seems the beef bill had with Bob was justified. I feel Bob was shameless in his approach too. I mean he used everything Bill did and said. Lol! Bob may be great but not original, far from it.
@VaderisOne5 жыл бұрын
Yes, Bob got most of how he did things from Bill. It was Bobs voice that changed things in his favor. Watch the video about how things got started for bob and how he became the legend. He only cared about painting and spreading the power of the brush, the people behind him getting to there only cared about the money.
@masterexploder96684 жыл бұрын
Wet-on-wet has been around for centuries, Bill didn't exactly invent the wheel here, his own take or mannerisms perhaps. It just happened that Bob came across, he had a better personality for tv: unique, calming voice, good looking, clearly spoken English with no thick German accent on top of it. To each their own obviously, but Bob Ross as tv personality was clearly better to capture the wider audience. Bob didn't make money from the show itself, but it helped to promote his signed products and art classes. He made a first version before the show and also practiced what he was going to say, so what he did wasn't exactly spontaneous, but watching him thinking what to say or what to paint next wouldn't be very enjoyable. He had a strict time limit under 30 min to get everything done and couldn't waste it on staring at canvas.
