I feel kind of bad for Taft. He tried to do the best that he could as president and actually did a lot of good things, but many people only remember him as the guy who allegedly got stuck in a bathtub.

@@eunaekim9216 I agree. Taft's qualities, such as hesitation, listening to all sides of the problem, and worrying over every detail, work against him as a President, but these qualities belong with a good judge. This is probably why he famously dissented against Adkins v. Children's Hospital's upholding that minimum wage law is unconstitutional, in which he argued against the very laissez-faire, classically Republican idea of "freedom of contract" as a fundamental constitutional right (and mind you, he's a Republican himself; and he ended up being vindicated by West Coast Hotel Co. v. Parrish in 1937). And thus, Taft is, in my opinion, one of the better Chief Justices.

Taft was far more mindful & earnest about making sure that everything he did was constitutional & legal. He deserves way more credit than he gets. Also, he was pretty peaceful in foreign policy, as well as a far more successful trust-buster than Roosevelt. The economy also performed well under him. Had it not been for Teddy’s egomania, Taft would’ve beaten Wilson (the worst president we’ve ever had: he segregated the public workforce; created the inflationary Fed; & forced an unnecessary power vacuum in Germany by forcing the Kaiser to abdicate, which led to rise of Adolf Hitler).

And this is also the guy who made the necessary changes to child abuse prevention and foster care. He filed twice the antitrust lawsuits of Roosevelt in basically half the time. Cherry on top - he was known for his integrity and his humility!

Both are kinda true to some extent. You could perhaps debate and very well argue (as I have seen many people do) that Taft was a progressive, albeit not as hardline or radical as Roosevelt. Constitutional Conservative is true in this regard as well. But it is by no means "patently false", rather, it is the interpretation of you see what a Progressive at the time is. Especially since Taft also busted the trusts and monopolies, which would be a Progressive thing in the time it occurred in. On that note, I think it shouldn't be taken that serious. This is an obvious condensing of very intrinsic history. Don't slam them because "well uhhh bathtub funny :)". I do highly recommend people watching this into looking more into Big Bill. He's personally a favourite of mine. DISCLOSURE: Yes, I am a Taftian. You should take this into consideration when reading my comment - and no, the comment isn't made as a hit-piece, but to educate anyone watching or interested in possibly discussing history.

I think it should be investigated if the American states now and then are legislated with the Bible written as a story. The word immunity (Latin immunitas, freedom from obligations to the state) comes from a religious revelation from the middle ages, most likely from a pope to become lawless, and which has since been rewritten into sovereign, absolute, and qualified immunity (legally, cannot be prosecuted for criminal act) to the president, senate (origin, the Roman Empire), congress, cabinet, and Supreme Court for law decisions and actions. The political exploitation of the vital ecosystem has led to forest death, how will that affect people's economy, etc? I also think The Democratic party can be a consciously misleading party name with all parties belonging to The Republican party, as current political democracy and socialism can only be about going more toward the middle, eg. The Democrats for law decisions and actions, even with the misleading word professional politician. Furthermore, I think the people should consider voting for a real democratic party with an independent state formation to investigate if the president, parties, senate (origin, the Roman Empire), congress, cabinet, and Supreme Court overall may be guilty of a violation of democratic rights with misleading elections, serious economic crimes, violation of human rights with class society for adults and children, and serious environmental crime (force majeure).
