much like you this was the track that introduced me to trance music. I remember there was a Sky channel called classical or similar and this fantastic tune kept coming on. Eventually I found its the shortened version of Ferry Corstens 1999 classic. It's worth hunting out trance music back to 1999 (the year of trance), and it would be remiss of me not to recommend my favourites channel here which is filled with anthemic trance.! Enjoy & Good Luck !

80 years in fact - the original tune by S.Barber (now 84 yrs)
@IloveChrome8462 ай бұрын
The work is the slow movement, "Adagio" in Italian, from American Composer Samuel Barber's String Quartet No. 2. (1936). Even in an altered form, this work being admired by you younger peeps, makes me smile. Barber scored the work for a.full.body of Strings including Basses. If you like synthesized works, check out William Orbit's complete reading. Your comment was awesome.

This tune is Excellent. An incredible beat. My favourite tune from 1999. I remember first hearing this in December 1999. Such fond memories of this great tune and that Time period. I loved the year 1999, A lot of cool things happened that year. It was a nice end of an era and the beginning of a new Age in the year 2000.

I like that W Orbit's version opens up this extraordinary work to an entirely new generation and audience. It was written in 1936 by Samuel Barber and conducted by giantslike Toscannini and Eugene Ormandy on live radio broadcasts. While mainstream listeners recognize, it's usually only classical fans who know what it is. Thank you William Orbit!
@gavsmith1980 Жыл бұрын
This isn’t really William Orbits version, this is Ferry Corstens remix, William Orbits version wasn’t even dance music.
@IloveChrome8462 ай бұрын
As a Symphony musician, I back up your facts. The even and equality of tones in Orbit's synthesized full version is a!axing to hear. Barber rather detested the fame of his "Adagio". Toscannini described Barber's work as " Bella" Semplice"...Beautiful and simple.

+Jack Mooney in Perth, Western Australia there was a tree that had been there a couple of hundred years and was only recently cut down because the bloody Perth council caved under the pressure from developers....they are now building high class apartments there AND on the water front, and the new-ish bell tower they built that kinda looks like a bug is going to have its view of the swan river completely blocked by said buildings :/ i know this because i live not far from the city and was royally pissed off! first they stop the land where the tree was from being used for big events and then they cave say "yeah you can build there and cut the tree down!". im pretty sure that tree had been there since the foundation of the city, maybe a bit longer? but the council always said that land where the tree resided was off limits to developers!
@JackMooney8 жыл бұрын
That sucks man! I'm actually from Perth, Western Australia, so I know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah, it totally sucks that they have to cut down the trees that produce the oxygen we breathe in order to make man made buildings and structures. But you wouldn't be living in the house you are today if they hadn't. I just think, if they need to cut down one tree, they should plant two more.
@MegaRazorback8 жыл бұрын
Jack Mooney that it is, i remember seeing the massive tree for the first time when me and my family had a holiday in Perth....we drove the 500 or so kms from Geraldton and was awe struck as that was the largest tree i'd ever seen and touched! i was sad to see them cut it down...at least i got to touch it one last time before they erected the fencing around it and cut it down. and your right that they should plant a couple of trees to replace it!
