Anyone know how to use or adapt a standard MACD indicator in TradingView to indicate the MACD being at it's 5 period low, like the one the author created for his video?

Darn bro, just giving this stuff out. I coded this up in easylanguage and back tested it in many futures markets and it slays. Averaged about %15 Time in Market with a profit factor of 4 in many markets

when you say youve changed your code to plot the difference to be displayed as a histogram, how do we go about doing this on Tradingview since it's MACD indicator has both the lines and the histogram already.
