The actor that played Willow - Warwick David was only 18 when they shot this. Pretty impressive.

Beaded Dreams yes,and I saw Warwick Davis in Star Wars The Phantom Menace. He was a spectator at the Boonta Eve Podrace on Planet Tatooine. First,Mr. Davis was sitting around Watto the Junk Dealer when Anakin Skywalker's Pod,wouldn't accelerate. Everyone, and Watto was laughing at him. But when Anakin Skywalker won the Boonta Eve,Mr. Davis looked like be was arguing with Watto,as if he was saying,"Hey,you said he'd lose,Watto! Nice going, now we've lost that bet."

This was the first film I ever saw that had smaller people in it. I was 9 years old at the time and I found it fascinating that adults could be the same size as children. I actually believed there was a fantasy land where all these people lived. It added to the magic of the film. Great actors in this. Tastefully done.

I remember reading that an entertainment journalist wanted to get the inside story on a movie with Ron Howard and George Lucas and he knew he was on the right plane (to New Zealand) when he saw how many little people were on the plane.

It was written by James Horner but performed by a British group called Incantation. They specialized in using old or unique instruments. Horner used them a number of times in the late '80s and early '90s (Field of Dreams is another example) when he wanted panpipes, Uillean pipes (Irish bagpipes), or some of the other harsh woodwinds that "Willow" has.

Warwick Davis is so cute! He has such an endearing boyish quality of most people his age at that time (i.e. Sean Astin, Keith Coogan, Ethan Hawke, etc), whom I really admire!

What I loved about this film was how it portrayed little people as just ordinary folk. It didn't emphasize on their stature nor did it even bother to mention that fact. It portrayed this town as a place inhabited by citizens who just happened have dwarfism.

I saw an old Little Rascals episode called Arbor Day. The school was conducting a play when a Truant Officer came in a little Man,and a little Woman, both adults. So hilariously,he thought they were schoolchildren playing hooky! Suddenly, the little Man tugged on the Truant Officer's sleeve. And once the Truant Officer bent down to listen, the smaller Man said,"If I wasn't so small,I'd knock your block off." Yep,despite how hilarious it was,the small man was right.

Incredible! I never got a chance to see the movie, though I did play the NES. Game as a kid. I sure was lousy at it,though. Willow was one difficult game. Concerning the people of Nelwyn Village, the dwarves of Middle Earth in the Lord of the Rings movies would actually be just like the ones today. The one word that comes to mind,is"Unique" because they may have been born to remain smaller than average height, but they are capable of doing just about anything those of average height can. I've seen them drive vehicles skillfully, operate machinery, take on full time jobs. Their size doesn't conflict with what they do.
