Serving in Ukraine has been the best experience of my life. You meet amazing people. You learn a lot about yourself. Of course it changes you, but it is war. I am honoured to have the privilege to fight alongside Ukrainians. When I came back from my last navy deployement in the Arabian Sea last year I did not know why I was releasing from the CAF, after 12 years. I just knew i had to do it. So when the war started and I was not serving for my country anymore, I was totally free to join the fight, so I had the chance to join the battlefield. Everything made sense. Now I am exactly where I wanted to be in life. Me and the boys will be joining the offensive in the near future. Be the change you want to see in the world. Slava Ukraini

@@cro25698 Yeah bro with military experience the legion might take you. Yes as foreigner you dont want to be taken prisoner so keep a side arm or grenade for you just in case. Yes there are prisoners exchanges you might survive but they will torture you. So when the times come it will be your decision. For injuries there is nothing we can do. If you are in Ukraine helping the war and useful for the country then i think you are doing enough and you dont need to join the fighting. However the only person that knows and can take this decision is yourself. Cheers🫡🇺🇦

Willy, CivDiv, I'm not finished the interview yet, however, I wanted to say thanks for getting the raw truth out there for us; I know it can't be easy mate. Watching the news as a US army infantry sniper (11 years) I realized there was a massive disconnect between reality and what was being fed to my family back home. I remember thinking this can simply be solved by just interviewing any of the soldiers in my unit. So, by interviewing soldiers on the ground You're fixing the problem 👌👍. - an average infantryman Edit**At 18 I didn't know what a "narrative" was,but I quickly figured things out and What I'm saying here is that Willy is doing a great a great job of keeping out the BS 👌*

Asked were always the generals, or ex generals, not so much the ordinary soldiers. "No one wants to have dissonance" when fighting a war and narratives must be held alive. We, you know reality is "something else", or at least much more gray than black and white. Some of the stuff (corruption and stealing on the frontline) came up once in a German channel (I'm German) and I was wondering about this, because "unusual". I "know" Ukraine and what Ukrainians were going through in live in regards to corruption and bribery. But I also have to say, it's way better now.

Ukraine is so poor the only way people can eat is it runs off corruption and bribery. A doctor only earns about 200 US dollars a month if they did not charge “extra” they would not be able to eat. Ukrainians are a good people just poor. Poverty breeds corruption.

How has civ div not figured out he is a larper. He's not only that he's a war tourist. He fought for the ypg when he could have fought for the Syrian army people who actually protected refugees in Syria but no he didn't do that. He hits his vape every 10 seconds and drinks his alcohol because he knows all his buddies got shredded to bits in Russia... Civ this war is way above your head just like your knowledge of the people who funded isis. Your understanding of which team decide on is pathetic. Take a note from the Italians. It's good that he recognizes his limits in this situation. There's no point wrecking yourself. PTSD can really do a number on you if you are in extended combat. Maybe he can do something in the planning or disbursement of equipment. That would also make good KZfaq contend, or maybe working with civilians in some capacity after areas have been liberated.

I like CIVDIV as a person, however I think he's really out of his depth in Ukraine....?? It's not like fighting in Iraq or Syria, it's totally different ways of fighting & warfare. Two different enemies with two different capabilities. Most Western volunteers have only GWOT Counterinsurgency combat experience.... It's not like going up against a PEER Adversary... I feel that CIVDIV knows that deep down and that's why he said he won't be going back to Ukraine to fight. But respect 🙏 to him all the same. Another great video from WILLIE!! Digression here, but I grew up in Australia 🇦🇺 WA Perth to be exact!! Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 ♥️ from the U.K 🇬🇧.

@@BrokenBritainz he's fought insurgencies, but he fought them as an insurgent. In the conflicts he fought, he WAS always the insurgent, except in ukraine where he is more of a recon spetsnatz, but all the training and all the experiences he had, it has worked for him, not against him

Willy is like a Beorn from LOTR. I'd love to see him get angry, turn into a bear and crush, but I'd also prefer him to live, so thanks for the content. Beorn has a lot of pent up anger. Stay safe, Willy, but please record the moment if you go wild.

I'm glad I found this from civdiv because I had a feeling he was a pretender from just little snippets I had seen before. I was wrong and I'm glad to see he was honest with himself and us. Especially without artillery showing him whose king.

54:45 just like he said, a lot of the frontlines that those early volunteers helped establish at the wars beginning, are still holding. Marinka, Aidrivka, on the frontline in the Donbas Day 1, still holding 💪🇺🇦 People like Civ really stepped up and helped save Ukraine in their hour of need. Much Respect to these brave men and women.

Willy with reference to bunker video, in my opinion I like your channel because it's personable, I can relate to your long form interviews because I'm from Windsor (across the border from Detroit where civ said he is from ). The blonde kid from the Nazi unit ( joke ), I know 100 of him from my hometown just like him. And I can list other examples but if I can't relate to the content then it's just news, and if the content is translated or not in English I can get that anywhere on KZfaq. Consider this- I watched lunkers or rob from speak the truth back when he was part of the gaming culture online years ago and for fishing content. Then when he made speak the truth I watched that because I found it interesting and entertaining. 7 months later after seeing you in one of his videos from the guys he sent to Ukraine I found and subbed to your channel. It's personal I've watched the growth and the path , it isn't just news. Having said all that I hope there's useful information in there for you and I'm here to watch you grow now regardless what u post but I'm betting there are those similar to me who arnt. I don't mean for this post to be any kind of answer , just wanted to show how I got here because it could be useful

Poland and ukraine hate each other. Only a Westerner who knows no history would ever say such a thing. Poland is invloved because they want western ukraine. It was anexed by stalin during ww2 when societ union made a pact with Germany, ribentrop molotov pact. Ukrainian nazis slaughtered thousands of poles during ww2, it was in a village called Katyn. Google it. Poland ia throwing ukraine under the bus with hopes of taking western ukraine. But stay naive like the majority of Westerners
