On April 13th, 2024, we had the pleasure of attending the Vintage Jeep Show at Southern Grace Farms, where we had the opportunity to meet Patrick and Carolyn Danforth, their son Terry Danforth, his son Clayton Danforth, and Patrick and Carolyn’s great-grandson Trip Danforth. Four generations of the Danforth family gathered around their 1957 CJ-5, which was purchased by Patrick Danforth in 1959-1960, and talked about its history. The CJ-5 was used for various tasks on the farm, including hauling tobacco crops and teaching children and grandchildren how to drive. The all-original CJ-5 has been through a lot, with every dent, ding, and bolt holding it together telling a story. The Danforth family plans to work on the mechanical aspects and drivability of the CJ-5 while retaining its original charm. We would like to express our gratitude to the Danforth family for sharing their story with us!
