Thanks for the input! That 125gr. BT is a great bullet btw. Have not shot it out of a blk yet, but I have loaded them in .308win for woodchucks. My varmint load is way too fast for deer (3000fps+) but I think at blk velocities it would perform well. Very accurate bullet.

Thinking about going with this barrel if you could do it again would you go with this barrel besides going to a 16" instead of the 18"?

Awesome rifle! I've decided to use my 300 blackout rifle for deer this year. I'm not sure exactly what ammo I'm going to use yet. Are you going to use your reloads for hunting or go with factory ammo? I'm going to finally test out the Barnes Vor-TX 110 gr. and Remington 125 gr. OTM since they have a ton of it at Gander Mtn in Dunde, MI.

What is the length of the gas system that you are using? Pistol length or carbine?

Hi, I wanted to build an 18 inch 300 Black for my hunting round . can you guide on the list of items that I need to buy for the upper receiver assembly? Than you.

I'll type up a quick parts list for an upper build for you. However after owning this 18" I would advise against it. Go with a 16" instead. The 18 offers no real advantage to the 16" in 300 BLK. Anyway here's the list Upper receiver Upper receiver parts Handguard Barrel nut (usually included with most free float handguards) Gas tube (carbine length for 300 BLK) Low pro gas block Gas tube pin

I can hear your trigger resets, but I'm hearing (what sounds like) dry fire as well. An empty mag would leave you in lock back. Failure to feed? What length gas system are you running? Curious because I'm looking into building or buying a blk upper for hunting pigs. I have 0% interest into SBR/subsonic uses of the cartridge, so I like the idea of an 18" barrel in the aspect of accuracy and velocity. I've heard mixed results as far as longer barrels with carbine length gas systems, so I was wondering if that was indeed malfunction I was hearing.

you are correct on the dry fire. I had a few issues early on with the bolt locking back on an empty mag. Turns out that the 18" barrel with carbine gas length system likes a semi auto BCG and JP reduced power buffer spring to lock back on an empty mag. If I was to do it again i'd go 16". In 300 BLK from 16" to 18" isn't a noticeable difference in velocity or accuracy.

I;m using my own reloads. I haven't shot much factory ammo yet due to cost.
@BradJemerson9 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if I want to start reloading, I built my 300 BLK upper during the whole assult weapons ban and ammo shortage early last year, so finding primers and gun powder was almost impossible. Cheaper Than Dirt has a good selection and a few smaller compaines that specialize in 300 BLK are out there, but nothing compairable to reloading. I wish you all the luck this season.

neth sok 19.3gr of H110 with either a nosler ballistic tip 125gr or Hornady 125gr COAL 2.100" This load is very hot and I recommend you start lower and slowly work your way up to it watching for signs of overpressure.

Have you happen to try the Sierra Pro hunter 150 grain spitzer? What load data would you recommend on that? and thx for replying

If you're going to record 2 minutes of target shooting don't you think it may be a good idea to show us the paper, so we know whether or not you hit the target, how about some groups? anything, the only thing I learned from this video is that someone shot at a target 50 yards away and that's pretty much it.
@KK403846 жыл бұрын
Jumpercable wireless when I shot that footage I never intended it to end up in a KZfaq video. When it did, the paper targets were long gone. Sorry I can’t please everybody. Thanks for watching.
