I used to love Wilson Philips. Still do. Hearing all the older songs, brings me back to when I was little and had no worries. It's always to go back and listen to older music and think on how much the world has changed.

I remember this!! I love, love, love Wendy. Mtv did a special about this too. Apprently Wendy got stage fright like a mother and was breaking out in hives while she sung this song. Hence why she prolly doesn't sound so great. I still love this song live or not. She at least sung LIVE!!! No one really does that anymore. Sad really.

Addicted to this video! Keep in mind this was New Year’s Eve so I wouldn’t be surprised if the girls had had a drink or two and maybe that’s why they sounded a little..different? Nonetheless, they pulled it off and are charming as hell

One of WIlson Phillips more "power pop / rockin " songs .. great to see them here live ..Wendy's first lead tunes (& in the front spotlight ) She looked gorgeous here ! They were def. having a blast for NYE here ( esp. Chynna of course haha.. looks hot here ) Dont think that many younger / new ladies singing ( esp.at Wendy's age here ) could pull these vocals off live in audience without prerecorded backing track( & garbled autotune vocals too ..Lol .. ) She handled the stagefright quite well didnt she ?! 💕👍 Dont think that most of the guys watching (& esp. in the audience) minded Wendy at all ... haha..

AND they reunited in 2012 and released "Dedicated" which is a masterpiece too. The ladies of Wilson Phillips are still incredibly hot and going strong...Too bad they are all married...

and based on other videos I've seen of them doing this song more recently it seems as if Wendy has gotten over her stage fright cause she sounds so much more confident.

just wondering if any of you who are saying they are off key have EVER been to a live concert?? Most live performances are not perfect... AND a little off key. When you play live you don't have the luxury of a second take. That is what makes a live show FUN! For the most part, I think they did great... ESPECIALLY with Wendy's stage fright!

@PaulFred1970 They broke up in 1993-1994 due to the grunge scene, but reunited in 2004. They still tour occassionally.

Matthew Fitch that and Chynna was burnt out from the constant touring. And since (let's be honest) she was the face of the group they decided to take a break

They were WAY off key in this one. Not sure if Wendy's being off key threw Chynna off too, but the only one who came out of this sounding like she knew what she was doing was Carnie. Interestingly, in the other "live" video of this song, from 1991, they're obviously lip-synching, although they performed "Release Me" live during the same 1991 show. Maybe Wendy just wasn't cut out to sing lead live.

this hot mess of a performance is a great example of why Wendy was always my fav. from Wendy's atrociously unflattering(& just plain ugly)outfit to her paper-thin warble & zero stage presence, she was the standout star to me. there's no wonder they always let her sing melody only. LOVE W.P.!!!

they were great as a group, much better as a whole. Each member bringing their special voices and talents to be as great as they are as a group. Remember though, it wasn't the hot blonde that made into the pages of Playboy.

Unfortunatley ALL Of the scorching ladies of Wilson Phillips are married and have kids now...In fact Wendy was on the Super Nanny around 2008 with her four boys! One can dream though...

Wendy was definitely off, but if we're being honest here Chynna wasn't much better. Carnie was the only one keeping it in tune. Fortunately they've gotten way better since.

Oh, I'm sure it was incredibly intimidating for them, and understandably so. I'm also guessing they hadn't done a whole lot of live performances at this point. But they've gained tons of experience and now they sound great live.

Someone's awfully sharp on the harmonies, not sure who. Wendy started out tentative but found her footing as she went along. The ending seemed to surprise them.

George Lucas I have seen them live numerous times in the last 6 years and they have sounded great. Maybe MTV didn’t have the best audio system for that location. BTW Chynna’s live performance’s of California Dreamin’ are wow! Much, much better than their studio version.

serious22 she was off because she was having an anxiety attack from stage fright while singing. She was also breaking out in hives during the performance. As for her outfit...I blame the 90's.
