Maketa has this abilety to see where the ball is comming (anticipation) very early.Not many other players have that great gift that makes her very tough to beat. !

that is exactly what i try to say to a friend who bet 300€ on this final and lose... people just maintain that jabeur loses because of mental weakness in final but regardless from sabalenka in semi who just sent bullet & doesn t want to run after the ball, in my opinion Vandrousovaa was complete and played well even on net point... i think jabeur get schooled on her own games... i remenber that interview from del potro after losing to djoko in us open 2012... its very confusing when you played your best weapon and the other guy, has a response to that. Vandrousovaa was too gut definetly.

Vondrousova has a tricky left hand serve that will destroy right hand players weather she was seeded or unseeded doesn't really matter she was the favourite in my opinion everyone knows Ons Jubeur problems in finals 🎉🎉🎉 congratulations 👏👏👏🏆💪

Marketa has undoutedly come a long way, it was only 2 years ago (2nd round WIMBY 2021), when a then unknown 18yr old WC playing in her 1st ever GS beat Vondrousova in straight sets !!

I feel puzzled by the poor quality of Jabeur's play. The level dropped off considerably after the firts 3 games. It's like she turned off a switch. It was so sloppy and poor that it's hard to see how she could have gotten to the final. Her body language was also bad, it told of resignation and loss acceptance even before she lost the first set. Normally this is what happens if someone is not fully healthy, or if someone is deliberately throwing (match-fixing). I don't want to accuse her of either of those without evidence, but then this is difficult to explain. I can't.

It’s called choking.. can’t handle the pressure. Too much things about winning or losing, lack of focus on what happening in the court.

Ons' serve is very vunerable. Rather pedestrian. If you drop serve, you're going to be behind the 8 ball all the time.

In my opinion Markéta just didn't let her play her game. It's frustrating to play against someone with such a variety in her tennis. She is not just unseeded player to win the Wimbledon, she will be around for a while!

Vondrousova was the one who played like she was more experienced favorite who had played at the Wimbledon final before, not Jabeur. Jabeur has been at the finals of three major title matches where she choked and lost all three. She's a pathetic choker, lol!

Most of the Marketa's slices were backspin, but sometimes sidespin. Marketa's slices were similar with the table tennis slices

In this match there was much more pressure on Ons to win compared to Vondrousova. Ultimately the pressure she put on herself was too much and it led to her undoing. But this will hopefully be a big learning experience for her and she will perform better in the future. It's good to see finalists in prior slams also winning them (I.e. Vondrousova here) but I understand why the majority of people support Jabeur as she is doing a lot for tennis in Tunisia and Arab countries in general. It's quite inspiring to have watched her progress and develop some consistency 👍 at the end of the day we should congratulate both players on where they're at. That still won't stop me putting names on the dart board and making a throw to see who will win the next women's slam though 🤣

Ons has lost her touch so early in her tennis career. It's unbelievable how her game has spiraled downwards with those meltdowns that are uncharacteristic of a player seeded 6th.

I thought her emotional display was very unprofessional and as a result she received more coverage than Marketa. If she cannot accept losing, then she shouldn't compete.

Frankly this was just a brief and boring sideshow compared with the Alcaraz/Djokovic final (and the matches leading up to it). This match was 1h 20m vs. 4h 43m. The longest women's Wimbledon final was 2:45 in 2005 (Venus Williams/Davenport). Perhaps the men need to put up the case for fair prize money. If a man was paid the same as a woman for doing arguably 1/4 the work, there would be hell to pay.

They would have to advocate for more pay which will be rejected. The only option would be to pay the women less which wouldn't the men out. And potentially hurt coaches and other support staff as they would also be paid less.

Ons is a big choker who gave the final away to Vondrousova, another WTA One Slam Wonder. This final is a joke compared to the men's final. What a sad state women's tennis is in!

I'm old so I remember tennis from the '70s and '80s. The line then was that women's tennis was boring compared to men's because there were only ever 2 or 3 players who seriously contended for the major titles while almost any man from the top 10 or 12 and even beyond could be serious threats. Now that the same 3 players among the men have won nearly every title for 20 plus years and the women's game is wide open, it's boring to have depth. SMH.

You know nothing about tennis. The quality of this final match was very good incl. many twists. The poor mental wreck Jabeur could not withstand and lost to Marketa 3rd time in a row. What a horrid player this Jabeur is. Marketa was in 2 big finals as well and she was RU in RG and got silver medal in Olympics. Obviously a much better player than horrid Jabeur.

After the William sisters' departure, I could never follow women's tennis seriously. I don't even bother to know the name of these players. Everytime I watch women's tennis I see some new faces whom I can't recognise. And the next time when I will watch any grand slam these faces will already be forgotten and they will be replaced by some other forgettable faces. These new players are inconsistent and weak. They lack stamina and skill. Can't even hold their serve regularly. They only have to play best of three but still look tired throughout the match.
